Cheers Nis, absolutely loving it, it's in a different league to the other BMWs I've had; and the HK keeps getting better and better each day! Love the bass.

I agree on the HK, I was initially a little disappointed but its sounding much better now the speakers have bedded in a bit.

It sounds bloody amazing both on DAB and FM. Programmed ALL my stations now.
Got to understand most of the tech now. Next, the big one: the learning of the Sat Nav.

Yeah it sure does . I think the silvervisions given even better light and I've found that before with the other (blue-tint, can't remember the name) type too.

Hi guys, finally got some decent(ish) pics done; though apologies for the couple of blurry and dark ones!! iPhone 5 camera (or its operator...). I also have my winter tyres on now - Bridgestone Blizzak LM25 225/45/18 all round - hence larger gap in the wheel arches (particularly the fronts) than the standard higher-profile tyres!

Also how dark is the Sun Protection Glass now?! Much darker than on my E92/E82, I like it though.

I love the way your camera caresses the red cow. It hurts! Lovely pictures. I wish I had your driver's seat base.

hope you get your issues sorted ASAP! Difficult to get the coral red showing the correct colour in photos; it's a bit darker and less 'in your face' in person as you know Thought I'd show the black contrast stitching (it's on the outer edges of the seats/headrests and doors only), as well as the black piping; both of which I didn't even know it was coming with as they don't usually show up in photos!! A nice detail.

Just had the car detailed and protected/sealed today by a chap I've known for years; he said the car was actually in very good condition (very few, if any, swirls etc. caused by the dealer); and he's put a ceramic sealant on it that he says is the best he's used, and it should last for 2 years. He's also waxed the wheels, protected the leather and Scotch Guarded the floor mats. Car looks really good for it, and it should make it easier to clean at least

I hope I do. They have to go through a BMW approved procedure to fix the seat, whatever that means.

Does your guy work in London? Your car looks great.

Thanks He's based in Yorkshire but works all over, he specialises in exotic cars - he did a DBS yesterday with the same ceramic sealant - so my car is probably one of the most modest he does! He also does work for dealerships and car launches / events etc.; he's really exceptional. Worth a shout to see if he's down in London, he's all over the UK each week I think: http://www.professional-car-valeting.com

Well my car is confirmed (again) week 6 at the dealer so I've been in touch with them about the black chrome tailpipes and black grilles. They've given me a small discount and it comes in at £73.65 for the tailpipes and £75.06 for the grilles.

Does this sound reasonable?

They've also quoted me £96 labour. Now I could probably get a little off this too but I'm thinking about tackling this job myself. I know there's a guide for the grilles but how about the tailpipes?

A bit of background. I am terminally cack-handed. On a general handiness scale of 1 being my 4 year old and 10 being my dad I'd give myself 3. And I'm being generous.

I got the tailpipes for £10 less than that but the grilles for £5 more, so not much in it! The £96 labour is less than an hour's labour I think so seems quite reasonable "for BMW", but still a lot of money for what they're actually doing!

I've fitted the grilles myself on my E92 and E82 before, it's easy (there's a DIY I think); the tailpipes just fix on with sort of grub-screws I think, should also be easy! I'm also not great with DIY, but I managed to do the grilles, twice, almost stress-free; and I can't imagine the tailpipes being difficult at all. If I was you, I'd at least give it a go; you can then always get the dealer to help you out if something goes wrong!

Went Estoril Blue with black leather much to my wife's disgust as she hates the blue and has predicted it will be 'common as muck being a new colour'.

Unfortunately she was never going to win that be though as I loved the EB from the mid 90's and the E36 M3's

Your wife is probably right about EB becoming the common as muck colour but like you if I was ordering it probably would be my default choice. Second option for me would be white but a few years down the line the white phase may have fizzled out.

I don't know that EB will become common as muck. While it may be popular with forum users here, the f30post demographic is 'enthusiasts' of whom a higher percentage than normal prefer a sporty look and colour, hence M Sport and EB.

I have seen one EB F30 out in the wild (and that was at the dealership). By far the most common are (non M Sport) black, dark blue, grey, silver and white ones.

(...and that's not detracting from how good the Mineral Grey M Sport above looks )

How comes no-one goes for black these days? Dont think I've seen a black one on this forum.
I think I'd order black again if I were ordering a F30.

In a word... Swirl.

Black looks gorgeous when it's showroom fresh, but is the hardest colour to keep looking that way.

My last 3 or 4 cars have been Black, love it. But an F30 in black is an ugly MOFO. Just doesn't look right at the front.

Just tell your woman that EBII will be as common as diamonds at a Buckhouse party. That should muzzle her.
