LCI AC/radio trim retrofit

I done the mod today and happy with the way it looks in day lights and nicely blends with glossy strip across the dashboard BUT in dark conditions when the illumination comes ups i just it out of place with the rest of the cabin:

1. The way the top corners (left and right) the LED do not finish all the way to top of the trim, they almost narrow down and it looks incomplete
2. the light itself is stronger and large than the rest of the buttons on the front of the dashboard so it looks inconsistent and too strong
3. There should be really illumination on the strip across the dashboard to complement this mod (appreciate this is outside of this mod scope) and then this led strip can join with the erst of the door cards light strips
4. it highlights the two small gaps of the trim cover below the AC trim, left a and right

anyone else think the same? maybe i am too fussy

If you look at the reflection on the red shining from the interior light on your pearl trim, it’s exactly the same shade as the red around your trim.

I run mine on the white colour setting but I have oyster trim so,it stands out more.

Does it not dim with the other interior lights when you adjust with the little wheel on the right of the dash?

Does on the LCI yes - the dial adjusts the digital cockpit and ambient lighting in one

i coded so that the door card LED strips are on its own brightness settings this was because i was not happy with the maximum brightness level as these door lights were very faint.

Now i installed the trim, i guess its LED is on the same circuit because it wired to the cigarette lighter LED

So i now have dilemma, i could turn down the brightness so suit better the AC trim but then i will not be happy with the door card lights been faint again

I think that looks great mate how much was the trim? Do you have a part number? Did you just do the trim or the full unit?

Bringing this info from the grave. I recently got a cheap knock off trim from China and the LED is SUPER bright. I have coded the ambient to be independent of the cluster /dash but this radio trim is like 4x brighter that the doors / footwell.

I see one person on all the threads I looked through mention this and to try an online resistor. Is that the only option without the OEM parts?
