Alventi tyres on 440i mppsk

I was recommended a tyre fitter by my local garage as they didn't have the equipment to fit on 20" rims. Currently running michelin but the fitter recommended a brand called Alventi as the best bang for the buck.
Anyone know about these? Dirt cheap at £108 so I'm a bit worried if it's a case of getting what you pay for. Perhaps they are fine on cars with less torque.
Also, are there any good run flat options or not recommended? Car is already very bumpy with the low suspension, but I like the peace of mind
Thanks!

Avoid like the plague

Why anybody would spend perhaps 20k on a performance BMW then put the cheapest possible tyres on is a mystery to me

Maybe OK for a Nissan Micra pottering around but not a BMW

Cheap tyres tend to be more expensive in the long run anyway, they will probably wear out twice as fast as a decent make

The phrase 'cheap for a reason' always comes to mind.

Think about it this way : you are running a car with not far off the power of a Ferrari F360, and yet you're trying to skimp and save on the price of tyres.

Online reviews don't look great

You’re already running the best tyre. Replace like for like

Yes you are right. Just read up on it and will stick to my current michelin tyre. Stupid to cut corners on one of the most important parts of the car.
They are called 255/30 ZR20 92Y - I assume mine are the non-run flats
https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyr...r20-92y-816837

Not only did the seller not know about mppsk, he also advertised as having 19" rims. Only realised they are 20" tonight Taking it for a dyno and health check next weekend as I need to get to know it better. I wonder if there are other upgrades he didn't know about

less road noise more grip and performance =non runflat
but risk of being stranded if the tyre blows over hitting a pothole(mind you the suspension might blow instead with a runflat)
If you have to change 4 tyres and like comfort and performance non runflats are the way especially on 20 inch rims.

So my last 330d came on bridgestone at 19", awful. Changed to non runflat Goodyear Assy 3's in 19" excellent.

Current 340i came with bridgestones 19" not bad actually. Changed to non runflat PS4's in 19" not that impressed, still quite a firm ride, generally a narrower tyre than the G/Y, found the Goodyear a better ride and just as grippy.

Currently on non runflat 19" Vredestein winters on my old 403M's excellent.

I'm just about to place an order for 2 new Michelin Pilot Sport 4s - I just need to be 100% sure if they are run flats or not as I will only be changing the rears
Do I understand it correctly that they would have "ZP" in the name if they were run flats?

Do you mean "ZR"? That's the speed rating of the tyre.

In this case ZR is good for 150mph plus.

I do mean ZP as in the description here.
https://m.tyres.buycarparts.co.uk/mi...2830062-283006
Not sure where it would feature on the tyre or what will clearly indicate that it is a run flat tyre. Just looking at a picture now, but will inspect further tonight

Does say run flat in the advert description. Should state ZP on the side wall ( zero pressure).

That’d be interesting as I’d quite like the handling benefits and the security

Oh dear! A tyre fitter that couldn’t fit 20” tyres - really?
Advises Alventi for a 440i - really?
Buy tyres through Oponeo, call them on 0800 066 3422 to check stock, spec and prices first, or Black Circles and go to one of their dealers, perhaps STS tyre Pros or similar.
Your ride is firm for two reasons - 20” tyres and probably standard suspension. Ideally buy BMW approved tyres, as far as I know, 20” on a 440i may not be BMW OE. Mine are 19’s with Goodyear runflats but with adaptive suspension, which makes all the difference. The ride is great, no problem at all. Perhaps buy some 19” wheels , sell your 20’s, cheaper tyres, peace of mind and a better ride.

If you're a Costco member then you can get some pretty decent prices on Michelin tyres from them. They always seem to have a deal on too. Currently money off on two or four tyres. 19 inch and above are £50 off for two and £100 off for four.

Checked again tonight and it doesn't refer to the run flats - they are standard Michelin 4s so will get the same. Can get a pair for £416 fitted by Perfect Touch. Going there on Saturday for a dyno and health check of the car so they will fit the tyres at the same time. Definitely sticking to my 20" wheels
