Can only imagine the owner has received a low trade in and has priced it £1k over that. Very low, too low. £36k should have been the ballmark for private.
This isn't what i want to be seeing having just picked up an M40D 48 hours ago |

Not necessarily. Trade in values seem to be shockingly poor at present. Wouldn't be surprised if the owner had been offered 3k less for this bad boy so selling privately for cheap could be a win/win for both parties. Trouble is there's not many who are willing to drop 30 plus K on a private sale. Sad that HPI checks aren't as robust as they should be, only dealers and crooks reap the rewards.

Like to think I'm a friendly sort but when I sold my 330i the guy (and his mate!) who bought it was visibly petrified of getting scammed. Took a lot of tea/biccies and methodical, patient documentation checks to calm him down, and the test drive did finally put a smile on his face!

WBAC values it at £33,695 and Motorway £32639 so probably not far off the mark if they are looking for a quick sale. It's worth what it's worth, whether you like the valuation or not. It will probably get scooped up by a dealer or trader anyway.
Dec and Jan are definitely bad for values as supply is high and demand low. I have been tracking my own car as changing in march and it has fluctuated by nearly £1k on £15k in the space of 6 weeks. |
