Who does good tint work in New York?

So I want to tint my car asap, the fishbowl thing is not working for me. I haven't driven a non tinted car in a long time.

I hear the Gran Coupe is hard to tint because of the windows going up and down when you close the door so I definitely want someone who's capable and good at what they do.

Can anyone recommend a good tint shop or tinter who would be able to do the work with a good quality film, no scratches and not charge an arm and a leg?

Highly recommended. Michael and Stefano did some great work on my E90 328i over the summer including an all around tint. $300 for the whole thing. I imagine they would have no problem with the GC's windows. Professional guys and they know their stuff.

do they need you to drop off the car?

you have to make an appointment... if you can land an early one i assume you can wait. mine was a 2pm appt.. so i dropped it off at 730 in the morning.. and hopped the train and headed into work

I used TintMax for my CTS-V. It wasn't great and had bubbles. Theres a shop on Northern Blvd about 2 blocks off Francis Lewis that does the tinting for Ferrari of Long Island. They're the best in the area, but they're really pricey. The Tint Shop up in Great Neck did my 540, and they do pretty good work. And lastly theres A Touch of Glass who just opened their second shop in Great Neck (first is in Brooklyn), and they have a special for $150.

Im in NYC - how do u guys avoid the cops???

Last time i had tints i used to get pulled over almost weekly, getting tickets for EACH window....

Had my tints done at 212 Motoring in BK back in the day.
Did a good job back then.

I think its called NYC Motoring, or something like that. Its across the street from the Greek church. They always have exotics parked outside.

Just don't go dark. On a regular F30, F32 or F36, 30% is probably your safe spot. On the F31 and F34, they're considered MPVs, so behind the driver you can go to 20% safely, and perhaps even darker. Gotta stay around 30% for the front side glass though.

Or get a DMV waiver. Very hard to get in NY, but if you can get one you can legally tint down to 5%.

It jumps from 20 to 35 doesn't it? You can't pick whatever you want. Or am I talking old school here?

Last time I was tinted it was 2.5, 5, 20, 30, 50, 70.

you can go to NEXT LEVEL TINT in Mamaroneck NY. he does flawless work with reasonable prices, around $200. i've had my last 5 cars done there and have had no imperfections in any window. i've have had all the windshields done also for about an extra $100.

NYC police are looking for almost any reason to pull you over now, going 26 MPH & their favorite tints.

Damn do I miss having my tints, but I sure don't miss getting a tint ticket at least 1x a month back when I had my e90.

Called Best Sound and security in bayside and spoke to Rudy. He seemed very busy and couldnt really give me much time on the phone. Pricing looks average. Which tint is better? Ive always had 3M Color Stable and have been pretty happy with it. Im interested in Llumar. He said they are priced the same. any thoughts?
