Have to say I'm not sure any of the 4s look that good in EB, whereas the 3s do! Doesn't make any real sense I know. But I think with fairly unexciting looking saloons and estates then bolder colours and the sexy body kits look better, whereas the already sexy looking body shapes don't need them, they're all already great looking!

Lorcan sounds like a good plan....... I am sure SWMBO will be delighted you have spent the holiday fund! I am missing the noise from the M135 especially the pops crackles. so interesting you put an exhaust as the 2nd upgrade. what kind of damage are we talking on the exhaust ( if I dare ask!)

I only put it second because having heard one in the flesh I wouldn't be able to resist it. Video doesn't really do it justice.

Love those rims. Gutted not an option on the pre-LCI F30. And it does look like you have some of the interior changes which are part of the LCI. Will have to look at mine tonight as only got it in July. I know the graphics on the Nav are definitely different to what I had on my F30 from April 2014.

So as it has some of the interior updates from the 3 LCI, does it have the suspension updates, i.e. 5 bolts on each suspension strut?

Awesome!

There's no reason for me to choose an F30 over F36 then, except maybe price!

Lorcan Are ACS springs available for the new revised F3x suspension (5 bolt strut towers)? I guess the old ones won't fit/work?

Great thanks!

I assume they will need new ones considering the standard springs are now stiffer, which would mean the ACS ones won't make as much of an improvement. Also the new dampers are now twin tube ones so the ACS springs would need to be designed and tested to work well with them.

I'll have an answer next week so please wait for this before fitting springs to any 3 or 4 series LCI.

According to BMW www.etk.cc the 5 stud mounts were changed in Jan 2015 and the struts in may 2015.

But surely the 5 stud mounts ARE the struts, as the 5 studs go into the strut!? :

The 5 studs relate only to the top mount; you would reuse this even with coilovers.

No, the top mounts have the 5 stud fixing, see here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=31_0950

The struct body locates in the hub assembly and the strut rod fixes through the top mounts

The top mount in the first link is the old one with 3 stud fixings

But i think i see what you mean. You think they changed the top mount part of the strut first, then change the damper part of the strut later? I find that unlikely tbh.

The picture shows three bolt holes yes but look down the list at part 2, it lists 10 off m8 x 30 bolts so 5 per side. I found out about the struts on www.etk.cc
Also the body shell has a different part number from Jan 2015 to accommodate the 5 hole fixing for the top mounts.
It's going to be fun getting spares for the late pre-lci vehicles

Cracking looking in the BS.
Exactlly my intensions on the next motor, need to decide on what colour though. Between BS or MG with coral dakota or black menenrio.

So just because you have the 5 bolts doesn't necessarily mean you have the new dampers & springs!

So do the latest 4GC have the new shocks/springs, or have BMW just changed the top mounts until the F36 LCI?

It's not BS, it's CB (Carbon Black)
