Mods that wont trip CEL?

Aloha all!

I recently aquired a 2013 335i and was wondering what parts will NOT trigger a CEL. Only reason for this is that I purchased the extended warranty that covers some wear and tear stuff, as well as oil changes, tire rotations, and other maintenance stuff until 2020. I dont want to have any conflict with the dealer when I take it in for any issues, or have to keep removing stuff between visits.

I'd tell you JB4 but it's gonna have to get removed each visit.

Try a jb+ or dinan sport. 2 plugs and you're done.

I read that there are a couple DPs that wont trip CEL. I may look into that. Also, the Dinan sport, would I need any other parts for me to fully use it? like Chargepipe for the sport+ mode?

Charge pipe 110% that should be your 1st mod. Dinan sport is designed to be used with no DP so that's a go. You can adjust the boost from 0-4 psi.

And yes there's fabspeed down pipe with 300 cell design they guarantee no CEL.

I have 2013 F30 335i AH3 with the new AFE catted DP (ver. 2) installed and it does not trigger the CEL. It's more than a year now.

Historically, a tune like a JB4 on default settings shouldn't trip a CEL. Honestly, the only thing "risky" (if you can call it that) are the intakes. They seem to be the only troublesome when it comes to stupid check engine lights.

If you have a tune like JB4, you can get any downpipe and not worry about a check engine light either.

Or consider a catted downpipe.

As I tell everyone, when in doubt, take it out. That rules out any issues. Just make sure it's done clean and right.

Thanks for all the input guys. really helps a lot. I'm seeing a lot of good things coming about VRSF and CG Precision. I may go that route for CP to Exhaust.

No mods except the downpipe will cause a CEL ... As mentioned above if you are worried about warranty get a stage 1 JB or JB+ and just remove it before your visit (takes 5 minutes)
