I Followed the steps below ( as mentioned by a previous member)....
1. Turn on "Office" under Telephone > Bluetooth settings in iDrive. 2. In the iPhone go to Settings > Messages and make sure notifications are on, change the number of notifications and show in lock screen 3. In the iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth and click on the BMW link and make sure "show on screen" is selected. 4. Go to notifications--> mail--> turn on 'show on lock screen' Send a couple of test messages and it should work.... As for tech ...I have extended BT, Apps, Nav Pro Hope this helps....... |

One step that also may help is to connect the phone with the USB....after you have done the steps above! After that it should work wireless... |

Hello,
I have an iPhone 3GS with iOS 6 and I can't have Office in my BMW 320d F30 with Nav professional and the latest software version. I already tried to pair again the iPhone and it doesn't work. Anyone could put it working with an iPhone 3GS? Thanks |

I just got mine working this morning. Even with the detailed steps provided n previous posts, I have to say, getting this to work was ridiculously non-intuitive. I love the iDrive system, but feel sorry for those who are less technically apt at this sort of thing.

Is that with an iPhone 5 or older? Any steps you can add that haven't been already posted in this thread?

Strange that people are having such issues. The only thing I needed to do except to pair the phone was to activate the option under bluetooth on the phone to show on screen. Other than that everything else was already default for me.
I'm not saying that some of you are wrong or something like that. Just that it is strange how it can be so different for the same hardware. |

I had done all the above however it didn't work, until I turned my iCloud email account on then I now receive emails in my office from all my email accounts, works perfectly.
Update 1 day later. When reconnected It didn't work, pulling my hair out, I used this function with my blackberry and found it a good feature with the amount of miles I do. |

I sorta, kinda, half got this to work with an iPhone 4S.
But I don't get the point. It's utterly useless. I'd rather just pull over and read txts and messages on the phone.

Finally worked this morning. Both email and text. The last thing I did to get email to work was setup VIP email contacts. That seemed to make it work.
Before I could only get text message. I have iPhone 4 iOS6 and enhanced Bluetooth and Apps. Good luck as this is a joke of complexity to setup. It is amazing with the technology we have that it takes an act of god for you just to read email in a car. Wow. |

BMW's implementation of Office with iOS6 has been appalling.

To be fair I think it's more BMW's luck that ios 6 and office integration works at all, I don't think BMW has done anything to implement ios 6, can't understand why it doesn't work as well as my Blackberry torch did.

I agree that BMW has not made any recent changes to cause Office to start working with iOS 6. It was the release of iOS 6 which was the thing which which was needed. Interesting what you say about how it works with your Blackberry Torch. Maybe Apple as the phone manufacturer should get some of the blame as well.

Yeh fully agree, apple way behind the mark with only just releasing the update including bluetooth map. I was able to use the office integration with my blackberry and my F10 over 18 months ago.

Ok. Finally got email to work. Here's what I did. Have to turn on all the other things everyone has posted. Then plugged in phone via USB an turned on BMW connect app. Then clicked button on iPhone to turn of screen. Voila. Messages came in. However next time I got in the car. No more messages. Did what other s noted of changing the number of new messages to show as it works again. So it looks like some element of ios6's MAP confuses the car.
