difference between M-SPORT line and SPORT line

This may seem stupid, but other than the obvious, what is the difference between sport line and m-sport line on the f30 335i?

Obvious - aero kit, interior / exterior color trim choices, steering wheel, rims

my questions:
1) Are the seats different?
2) Are the brakes different?
3) Is the suspension different?
4) As far as options go, you can still get the DHP, sport auto, etc... on Sport line, and I assume those perform the same?
5) Dealer installed options are the same right? like M performance kit, or M performance brakes or exhaust??

2) i had a sport line and the breaks were very weak compared to mine, i haven't noticed anything else

their appearances are different...
and m-sport gets a nice m6-ish steering wheel.

1. I think the seats are the same, but I'm not sure.
2. I heard m-sport breaks produce way much more dust...
3. suspension is the same.
4. performance should be the same for 99% of the people. aerodynamics do affect performance a little bit I'd say.
5. Not all options are the same I believe. eg. some parts may be only for those with m-bumpers.

you can also order the m-adaptive suspension as part of the m-sport package, not sure you can do that with just the regular sport line, though i could be wrong someone chime in?

true forgot to mention the steeering wheel, its soooooooo much better it just feels much more expansive, overall i think m-sport is a very good option to pick, if you want to make the car look different from all the base 328s on the road that are eather black or white, plus you get an option to pick eb2, it all depends what u want and like

you can get m-adaptive with the DHP on sport line. that's a fact.

i do like the steering wheel and the aero pkg, but i also like mineral white and a gray interior (which you can't get on MSPORT LINE). seems like there's no real engineering differences between the two cars other than maybe the brakes.

my questions:
1) Are the seats different? No
2) Are the brakes different? Brake pads are different, m-sport will have shorter stopping distance and many have complained about additional dust.
3) Is the suspension different? No
4) As far as options go, you can still get the DHP, sport auto, etc... on Sport line, and I assume those perform the same? Yup, same option choices.
5) Dealer installed options are the same right? like M performance kit, or M performance brakes or exhaust?? Yup nothing different, not sure if there is an issue fitting a front lip.
See answers above in bold.

Highly recommend the MSport. Better steering wheel (plus does not have the cheesy red stitching), better brakes (unfortunately, more break dust) and better looks IMO.

Steering wheel alone is worth it. I didnt really have an issue with the e90 steering wheel but that huge hub in all the new BMWs seems like it belongs in a buick....Msport steering wheel is where its at.

So might the different brake pads explain the why there are no fog lights (i.e. more cooling)? Do the Canadian M sport cars (which come with fog lights) get the same pads we get in Msport here?

Just my opinion. I know others feel differently, including yourself. I forgot to add the red stripe across the dash.

I couldn't resist.

For me, the regular Sport Line steering wheel looks better than the M-Sport one.

Canadian M Sport does not come with fog lights. At least mine didn't.

We have the M Sport brake upgrade as a standalone option (assuming you order the M Sport package). The brake upgrade includes different rotors, callipers, and pads. I seem to recall that the US doesn't have that option. Although, maybe now they are offering it to you down south.

Nope, still no Msport brake option here unfortunately.

The M-sport has some additional cooling along with deleted fog lights. The oil cooler has additional pump as can be seen from this link.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...76&hg=17&fg=05

I believe it also has an auxiliary radiator on the driver's side.

This is worthwhile if planning to tune the car. M-sport brakes in Canada are a really good deal which is good as we get hosed on the price of the PPK.

Minor cosmetic feature with M Sport package is the metal plate that covers the dead pedal. Only comes with the M Sport black interior cars. M Sport tan interior does not get this feature.

Yep, also gets the weighted ZHP shift knob, the others have a lighter plastic feeling shift throw.
