My F30 is fast, turbo sounds nice spooling up, I totally dig the luxury, but the stock exhaust is pretty quiet and detracts from the driving experience. After some video research and trolling on ebay, I picked up a Magnaflow cat-back system (part # 15161) and installed it last night. Full install time was probably two hours, and a great deal of that was getting the new system adjusted so that the tips sat perfectly past the edge of the bumper. If I had a lift and an extra set of hands, the system could have been installed in less than an hour.

Overall, the new system sounds great at idle and driving. The stock system was very quiet and only started to make noise around redline. The Magnaflow is slightly louder while driving (very slight, still totally streetable without looking like a euro-tard), and the deeper noise accentuates the sound of the 2.0L hitting powerband and makes spooling the turbo a delight on the ears.

I've come to the realization that the N20 will never sound like the inline 6 from previous BMW's, but the little 4 has its own sound that makes it unique.

Because of the 320 having only the single exhaust tip, I plan on keeping the stock piping and adding just a Magnaflow can w/ a single M-Performance exhaust tip. Emphasis being on retaining the 320's rear bumper single cutout while adding some sound.

Thanks for the content. I am likely picking this up soon for my 2014 M Sport. It seems like a great compromise for my daily... my weekend/track car is pretty loud and I don't want that all the time.
