Aftermarket exhaust on leased car.

Wanted some help before I pull the trigger.

I want to install the Active Autowerke exhaust on my 328I. I understand that it requires cutting the stock exhaust off and clamping this one on. Question: when it comes time to return my car in 2 years, how would I put the stock one back on? can it be rewelded? Is this too much of an issue?

You would just remove the AA exhaust and either weld or clamp the original one back on. Any muffler shop can do this for you.

Keep in mind that cutting the original exhaust would have to be done with any muffler replacement you do, even if its OEM since from the factory the exhaust comes in one piece.

The MP exhaust is cut and put on the same way and the clamp has a BMW part number. So if you use the BMW part and return the car in that way BMW has no leg to stand on as its BMW parts and not modified any differently that a car equipped with the MP exhaust.

just make sure you buy an OEM BMW clamp and have that on when you return the car, should be no issues
