I've read a few threads on main dealer services with a retrofitted NBT unit.

I know that as long as they don't attempt to update the software in the car it should be ok.

I'm wondering how they update your service history record though? Is this done using the engineer menu on the Idrive via the controller? Or do they have to connect to the car to do it?

Car going in this morning for routine service so I guess I'll find out soon enough!

As long the NBT retrofit does not affect the work they are doing, you are fine. I brought my car in for a rattling exhaust, left everything in there and they didn't care.

i had a service done last year after a NBT retro fit (Oil / General service). I had no problems and the service history was updated in the idrive
