Yeah that's what happened to me - I drove back from the south of Spain and managed to calculate it so I arrived home with my mileage just a few miles short of 50k, then they said 'no, it's not actually 50,000 but 49,xxx'.

I wasn't having that... and got my service
In what order are services from bmw example minor/major/minor?

I've had 3 services from my 330D.

13k
27k
37k

Now at 44,500 and says 7k till next, think I need to put the foot down to get the last one

Good work!

It always used to be minor / inspection 1 / minor / inspection 2. If that’s still the case well worth trying to get the inspection 2 included - that’s quite an expensive one.

Had an interim oil change after 12 months and 9,500 miles at BMW and they entered it onto the idrive service book and its reset back to 19,000 miles till next oil change.

It was on 10,000 miles remaining so quite pleased.

I'm on 48k with still 6k indicated till the third service is due. Car will be 3 years old in April so I will also miss out on the free brake fluid change so all in all a very smart/Sneaky move by bmw here. I think in 2014 it was 60k for the pack. I reckon in my case that will mean the next minor service will be over 500 quid with the fluid change as well. Straight profit for bmw and barely anyone would really notice...

Doesn't the brake fluid have its own countdown?

You would have thought so, but my friend recently went over 50k and his cars 3 years old March 18 and he has to pay

T&C's state "whichever occurs sooner". Your friend had hit the mileage, rather than been timed out.

I reckon now you would not pay for a service plan but negotiate it as a freebie to sweeten a deal.

That's what I did, though it was part of a negotiation to allow them to register on 28th December rather than wait till Jan.
