So I'm not the only one who thought I should be able to have a nice LEGAL smoke by NYE? Just not sure there are any sources to buy a few boxes as Christmas presents.

I guess I can just head on down to TJ and pick up a few. I do if we vacation down south, just NEVER (Not EVER, MR. Inspector, SIR) bring them home in my luggage.

My brother gets his Cubans from Venezuela... Somehow they manage to remove the band and ship them separately?

I'm glad Obama inked the deal... Very good move.

Can't be bothered to look this up - I presume that there is some deal now allowing Americans to trade with Cuba?

If so, good for you guys! And Cuban cigars are quite nice...but overpriced. I still enjoy them though, but only ones that I can get direct from people who are going to Cuba and bring them back so they are a reasonable price.

Exactly. They aren't worth the price to try and get in the U S when I can go to a Mexican resort and find the same for about $5

From what I read the king has only started the process and the new congress will have to void the embargo. So far congress doesn't want to pony up the cash for embassies fuckers probably already have their PS of cigars

I'm not a cigar aficionado like others here - but I just got some AVO Classics the other day - and they are f'ing fantastic.

I've never had a Cuban that I know of - but from being all over the Caribbean, I've been told they're not all what they're cracked up to be - it's more that we can't get them that has the allure.

There are a few companies that do this. They remove the bands and put them in a plain box with their logo on it and mail it to you and a couple of days later they mail you the bands.

I am not either but I've had a few of what I think most "aficionado's" would call a pretty good cigars. Cubans just have a distinctive taste, I've had 1 or 2 before, and it is definitely good. Very smooth. Many well known brands even have their beginnings traced back to Cuban founders who fled the country. So those men brought their knowledge to make good cigars, but at the same time when it comes from the ground in Cuba is what makes the difference. There are definitely better cigars out there, but Cubans are no doubt good, not always the best, but for sure good.
