MPerf Exhaust sounds best in Eco Pro?!
I've had the MPE installed for about two months now and really enjoy it, it adds just that extra bit of meatiness to the tone of the engine, nice little pops, etc.
However, when idling, winding down or with your foot down there is NO QUESTION that it is far louder when in Eco Pro. Is this because the valve is open in Eco Pro? Anyone else feel the same? |

No, its because the valve is CLOSED in eco pro, more exhaust forced out of one pipe = better sound I suppose.

No, this is not so on the 28i MPE, its valve closed sounds louder.

ECO PRO sounds better even with the stock exhaust. You can even make the 328i burble with the stock exhaust if you do it right in ECO PRO. I think the reason is that the wastegate dumps more exhaust and since it bypasses the turbo, it makes more noise.

A long shot, but anyone know if that wastegate setting can be coded?
If it's changing based on the drive mode selector it is feasible, right? |

efficient dynamics and default "normal" mode are there to appease regulations. Driving past BMW's you'll know that throttle response should be in "sport".
The various modes really appease to a wider audience of drivers and in turn generate more sales. At least the option of having the car mimic past cars better is still there. |

DHP is the same thing. If I'm driving on Montreal roads, the comfort mode comes in handy |

Perhaps it's an automatic transmission thing? I don't notice that huge of a difference in Eco Pro on my manual.

A manual transmission can override some of the different throttle responses in different modes. It's still easy to drive smoothly in Sport, even in traffic. You get used to the faster throttle response and prefer it. |

I got a remus exhaust and the flap has been deleted. I still get better sound and burbles from eco, so its got nothing to do with the flap. I think its got something to do how the engine is reving at a given speed. It has to be or its something to do with how the engine is running on that eco map or throttle response or transmission map driving the revs
