Is it just me!! .... bloody roads!

Am I being far to obsessed about my new car or is stuff like this just nasty!!

I checked over the paint work an noticed these stone chips on the bonnet!! Absolutely raging!! ... shitey Scottish roads.

Assuming this is not an easy fix like the swirls on the paintwork from the crap car wash guys??

I know things dont stay new forever but I have only had it a week .. look quite deep as well

Anyone having the same hatred towards marks on their lovely new ride?

That's slightly gutting, but it will happen.

The roads here are terrible mate, mine had a fair few now due the crappy roads. I bought the chipex kit to mask them when I spot them, works pretty well and the match is exact, Better than what BMW gave me if I am honest.

My mate had a 645, beautiful car, but he ended up getting rid of it and bought a Volvo as he just couldn't get to enjoy driving it due the crap roads and the fact it gets peeble dashed every journey.

Well, Scottish roads..... Hard to comment, I'm gutted and have the same feeling. You should have seen my e92 front bumper and fog lights after two years of driving on sandy M8.....bonnet was painted after a year (one million stone chips on BS which were just white)

Had some pretty good results with the Chipex kit on my last car. Small stuff completely disappeared.

I just had it out with my council about the state of my street and walkways, the sub contractor that came out to lower some water tap access plates were from Belfast...he said to me 'we have come here for work, we earn a fortune here as the roads are so bad, this whole road would be classed as an emergency repair back in Belfast but they just don't spend the money here' and he is correct, a friend of mine stays in Belfast and he confirmed this aswell. So I kicked up with the council and they are now resurfacing my road in April.....I aint holding my breath. Shower of gits.

You ever been to Shetland? Roads there are like that!

Oh and they are resurfacing the main road at the bottom of my street aswell which was a lot better than my street currently is...just a shower of useless bastards...sorry but they are, spending monies where it doesn't really need to be spent.

It sucks! I hate new stuff getting wasted.. My wife was raging with me when we moved into the new house a few months ago as I was inspecting the gloss kitchen doors for chips and complaining to get them replaced when I found marks on them! ...

Im constantly up and down the M8, M74 and M77 there just a fucking mess!.. Rubble lying about, pot holes, grit and stones!

I take it the detailer cant easily sort this type of thing then!

Unfortunate but its a ...... car .... out in the open to the elements, roads and other road users. If we all want them to look 100% perfect that's a lot of re-work over the years. I understand of course we've all laid out of fair chunk of £££. Guess I just accept it now!

I do agree that roads are getting into a truly shocking state. I was pondering over some 20 M Perf wheels then at a roundabout near work hit a ridiculous pot hole....I'll stick with 19s probably but 18s would be sensible. Lets cure youth unemployment with pot hole repair recruitment

Not stone chips mate. Scratches - yeah if not too deep. Best thing to do is either buy a touch up pen or pay to get the car wrapped in protective film.

depends what colour it is mate, Gordon at Defined Details is rather good at touch ups and wet sanding. But you are right, it is a mess, I am on the same roads and it just gets to me big style.

I'd love some 20's too but sods law i'll hit the mother of all potholes and wreck one in no time.

Been driving very cautiously so far. Only stretched its legs a couple of times. And getting just over 40mpg.

The stone chips annoy me incredibly... So the money spent on paint protection film is money well spent. 6000 miles in and not a single one!

I think for my AWhite I'd attempt self repairs on chips (none too bad yet) as it a great simple colour to patch up. I hear the EBII is quite tricky so would leave that to a pro. Like you say, shame its a bonnet mark

A very basic T Cut from ASDA in white has sorted out a load on minor problems on the lower areas on my MSport bodywork. Really can't praise it enough and less than a £5!

We can do what we can eh. Anyone else's wife not understand the hours cleaning at the weekend.....refreshing break from the kids too as well as car OCD!
