Post your window tint setup and pictures please.

I don't know if others run into this dilemma, but I'm dreading having mismatched tint. Here where I live, we're not really supposed to tint the front windows (driver and passenger), but everybody does. I am going to anyway, but I want to see how to make it look best.

I am considering doing 40% all around (that is, 40% of light gets in) or just going limo (5%) rear and 40% front.

What do you guys think?

I'm especially interested in seeing Gran Coupes or 3 Series sedans, but feel free to post any pictures of your cars. Before and after are great, but if not just post your post tint pics, please.

20% rears
50% fronts
5% windshield sun-strip

When I bought the car, it just had the 20% on the rear windows. I then added the 50% on the front doors and the 5% strip on the windshield. The 50% on the fronts works REALLY well (nano-ceramic) and maintains "normal" visibility for legality reasons, imo

If youre going to tint a car dont mix and match darkness shades do either 20 or 35 all around

After having tints on all my cars i dont think i will ever tint a car again. Tints make a brand new car look older and cheaper if that makes sense.

You think so? Why do you feel that way?

I ended up going 20 all around. I'm seeing a little bit of issue with the dot matrix on some of the windows, though. Installer said give it up to 6 days to fully cure and release bubbles, but that dot matrix is sure showing strong. Anyone have any luck in getting tint that worked fine with the matrix? Should I raise a stink, or is this unavoidable?

Just my opinion from experience. Tints to me just make a car look like its worth less if you compared an identical car without tints. But if i were to tint a car again i would do either 20 or 35 all around. No mixing percentages and no strip on the windshield. Either the whole thing or nothing. A strip looks cheap to me.

the strip on the windshield is what i think cheapens the look of the car. I dont agree that tint in general does as i think my car looks just as lux as it was when it was a fish bowl.

Are you just saying this because of the stupid NYS inspection law now requiring checking tint?

Lol no. Idc about the state inspection. That would be like me saying i think front plates look good because its the law. I think the darker the tint the cheaper it looks. Just my opinion. I use to tint all my cars. It was when i removed tint from my car that really changed my mind.

Neone get this kind of reflection in the rear window at night? Never had this on my e46. Doesn't bother me to much but just trying to see if this is normal. Also this is not my pic but it looks the same as what I'm experiencing. Also I just got my windows tinted few days ago.

Give it a few more days for all the moisture still trapped to evaporate and those lines should go away. The place that did my tint recommended I use the rear defroster all the time for a few days to help it out

Agreed. Every time I saw a bimmer on the road without tint I loved the way it looked. I finally removed all the tint I had on my f30, still very happy with my decision.

The one exceptions are Alpine white, as far as the f30's go, I think tint looks wicked on that color.
