You can aim them well in reflectors; there is a cutoff but not a super sharp one. HIDs tend to take a couple seconds to get fully lit which does not work well with highs. I put some LED in high and they sucked for the road (but did light reflective signs). Just use halogen for highs...

You probably have better bulbs or more sensitive eyes, because I couldn't see a thing unless there was a reflective street sign in the distance. I really like my LED fogs though. I can barely tell the halogen highs are on because the HIDs are so bright...
