Replacement Work 335d
I collected my new M4 4 weeks ago and love it. Now its time to look for a replacement for my work horse (335d GT). Test drove a new Golf R today and to be honest I was very disappointed. Not that its a bad car or did anything bad, but just totally boring and uninspiring. Looking towards a M240i or M140i now. What are your thoughts?

Company vehicle, they will allow me to get a M240i, but not an M2.

Id get something a bit more practical than a 240i. Thats less practical than an m4 as well as being less fun. How about a 340i touring or a 440i GC? No idea what budget is but X3 is a good option.

Was really thinking Golf R or Audi S3 Saloon. Seen so many good reports of Golf R, but just seemed a little dull on test today.

That’s really interesting, I’ve just watched a couple of other timed acceleration videos of each and they say the same, the M2 is way slower above a 100mph and by the time it gets to 155mph it’s miles behind. Bummer if you’ve got an M2 ☹️

Only a bummer on roads without corners on them!

I can't see past getting another powerful diesel. That will give you a good contrast to the M4. Not slow in day to day use, but bland enough to make the M4 feel more special. 335d or Audi equivalent should do it.
