Spoiler weighs too much?

I have an f32 2014 with a carbon http://www.jbspeed.com/bmw-cf-carbon...oiler-for-f32/

I go and push the unlock truck button on my remote or car but the trunk lid doesnt open all the way up to the top it just opens up a bit. Went to the dealership and they said it was normal, then went again and showed them how all bmw trunk lids go to the top. Now bmw says it has to do with the weight of the spoiler. Question is are they right or are they just lazy and not wanting to fix the problem?

There is another notch you need to move the spring to for the trunk to open all the way. Same thing happened to me. It's behind the lining on the left side if I remember correctly.
