You need to have an FEM which supports comfort access.

It is probably easier to go with the bimmer-tech comfort access retrofit.

I was doing an engine swap on my car so I used donor keys, DME and FEM which happened to be an FEM MAX.

I prefer OEM if possible. It was mentioned earlier that memory seats requires FEM MAX, is this true? If so I have the MAX version. I will take out the trim and check the version before I go and buy any bits. Can I confirm what you did:

• Fit door handle
• Fit exterior side skirt antenna
• Coding

Did you fit the rear and boot antennas? If my car does have a MAX FEM is it possible to code CA to it?

Memory seats do not require FEM MAX. I have memory seats and I had FEM MID.

I fitted driver door handle, all missing antennas (passenger, boot, rear bumper) and coded.

The donor had an FEM MAX but did not have CA from factory.

Some factory parts have part numbers that are only available from the factory. On ETK you'll find only one part number but when you order that with your VIN it comes in the configuration for your car with the correct FEM variant. It's safe to say that it's impossible to order a FEM MAX for your car.

Have you guys considered getting the CA retrofit kit from bimmer-tech.net? Seems to me like it's considerably cheaper than buying all the separate parts, and also less headache... They send you as many handles ad you need, the antennas, and the control module that plugs directly into your FEM.
