Somtimes Big power lag

i need help to fix the problem with my b48! once in a while at acceleration after a red light there is almost no power. I step the pedal down a bit and nothing happens and step down slowly almost completely and only then does it start to roll dullly and after 4-6 seconds then the power comes. it happens at large intervals and can run without happening for hours. the engine is almost brand new. it's hard to figure out and wonder a lot as it happens at large intervals. someone who can diagnose the problem ?

Setup:
Bm3 stage2
FTP charge pipe
Mtc Catless downpipe
Complete bastuck exhaust
Rest Stock

I've noticed this exact same thing. B48 engine. I've noticed that it only happens after starting the car for the day and until the engine warms up. I'm tuned with a dp as well but this happened before any of that. Not sure what that huge power lag could be.

for my b48 it only happens when the engine is hot and at random times. it really hard to find out .. have you used o2 sensor spacer on your or chiptunet?

it will be difficult as I can drive for several hours without it happening and once it happens it lasts for 4-8 seconds and then it runs normally again

No o2 sensor spacer. I'll log it next time I get a chance though.

i found out today that my friend's b48 does that too. it might be normal 🤔 I suspect the new cooler system air to water that b48 have. the advantage of water is that it cools faster. but when it gets hot it also has a harder time cooling down again and as far as I know it affects performance when the cooling is not good enough. that would explain why the B48 engine loses performance sometimes. it's just a theory I have 🤔

I don't think so...The watercooler is very efficient and should be the same of B58. Stock engine temperature is setted too high by bmw (for eco purpose) like 110 C°. In fact my calibration lowered it to 95 c°. A bit of "hesitation" sometimes is present in mine, like WOT under 4k rpm, but i think it's normal on a tuned turbo car.

You should try resetting your throttle position sensor! I have a b46 and it helped my car. It's a simple process that can be looked up on YouTube.

Hello, sorry to bring this post back up after over a year, but I've also been facing similar issues with my G20 330i (B48).

Have you managed to find the problem and solve it? I am also looking for help and some people seem to be thinking that my turbo could be on its way out, which is very scary to hear, especially since my car is still pretty new.

you should scan the DME for faults because there could be shadow codes related to this problem that don't throw the check engine light on dashboard

I've been checking codes and even brought the car to an indy shop, they said that there's no codes that would suggest turbo failure or anything related to the issue

Hello, I'm not sure if you're still active on here but on the off chance that you see this, may I ask if you ever got the turbo issue sorted out? Did you experience any CELs or other codes that may be worrisome? Did you turbo ever end up failing?

I believe it's not a turbo issue.
If it is a B48 20I 25I most likely the integrated variable exhaust manifold is faulty, I have encountered cases

How would one go about fixing this? Would a pedal tuner help at all?

I do not think so.
Replace with a new one, then repair the old one can save times
Or changing the cylinder head of the 30I would work, but I didn't try it. 30I does not integrate exhaust manifold
