Drive Train Malfunction

Having trouble locating the drive train thread. Have transmission surge (occassionally) and drive train malfunction error message. ODB shows Misfire on Cylinder 1. Also performed transmission reset routine. Also had brief Mass Air Flow sensor code - cleared; has not come back.

Could it be as simple as a new coil and plug on #1 to resolve this ?

(2016 435 conv, 43,000 miles)

Appreciate the input.

Clean the MAF sensor first and go from there. If need, swap #1 & #2 coil & plug and see if the misfire moves to #2. Replace accordingly.

Thanks @BMWILUVU I cleaned the MAF, and replaced the engine air filter since I was under the hood. The MAF did have some "haze" on the primary sensor. After returning and scanning so far no misfires, and no codes. That said, it was a brief test drive. Appreciate the MAF direction above. Will update if it comes back.
