Thanks guys for all the kind words!! We will try to update this thread as often as possible as soon as we get prototypes out. We're very excited to work on this car and we definitely see a lot of potential in this motor

Took a few more pics. Sorry about the quality of the pics, iphone. The car is on it's temporary home on lift #1 while we take some parts out and brainstorm on ideas for new parts. Taking some measurements and drawing out the prints for machining so we can start building prototype parts.
N20 engine naked... Taking the factory intercooler off. BMW made some revisions to how the factory hoses attach to the intercooler. Took us an hour to figure out how to detach them Forgot to take pictures of this new connector. I'll take some tomorrow. Rear diff looks pretty much the same as the one found on the N55 so that might be good news on getting a LSD in there quick. Rear case just has a mount for the exhaust system. Gonna pull this out sometime this week and open it up. I'll let you know what we find out. First thing so far I found that sucks. The rear axles are the traditional design where the axle shaft is one piece with the axle. Gotta pull the entire axle out when pulling the rear diff which means rear diff jobs are going to take longer. The old N54 and N55 cars, the axles are bolted to an axle stub that goes into the diff. All you have to do was unbolt the axle from the axle stub which is easy and takes no time at all. |

Compared to E9x and E8x, the new F30 looks very angry xDDDD

Time for a big turbo lol. I had a gt35r in my 4 banger Evo. Can't wait to see what can be done with this new engine. Evo/STi guys have been making big power out of 4 cyl for years. I wouldn't be surprised to one day see the same for this platform. I'll still have my 335 for a while but I wouldn't be opposed to going to a 328 next. I'll be keeping an eye on this build

Wow the shot of the. F30 And the 135 is an interesting photo. The modded 1 series looks considerably taller than the stock F30. If the 4 series coming offers a smaller lower stance I might trade in my N54. M4 here I come.
Time to get the guitar out an head downtown and play for change.

Don't know if you will like the lighter color though, but that's completely personal of course

Sorry bout the bandwidth thing. I had John move the pics to our website so no more bandwidth issues.
Actually, there is A LOT of space compared to the E82 and E90/92. Unlike the other cars, there's no need for cutting any plastic. All the plastic around the factory intercooler on the F30 detaches. Once you take out everything, there's a big hole there for a big FMIC. |

I'm not sure about this. Didn't look at the manual so I don't know if you can change it. Only drove the car for about 3 days so still not 100% familiar with all the features.
