Temp sensor screwed?

Hey guys,

I noticed my outside temperature is constantly at plus 50 degrees in the dashboard. It doesn't go up or down, it just stands there. Is there a setting I am missing to 'enable' it or do I have to bring it to the dealer to check it.
Talking about the little temperature display above the time and mileage in your dashboard.

May just not be plugged in correctly or came loose.

Its in the bumper on the right hand side, behind where the foglights go.

See here for some pics http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1110842

Thanks a bunch!
But wouldn't the temperature still vary? It's constantly at 50 degrees not a degree more or less.

If its unplugged it will only show 1 temperature.
It works via resistance, so without the sensor attached it will only see no resistance, thus only show one reading.

May still be a faulty sensor, but should be easy to check DIY if the sensor is unplugged.
Usually the easiest access is from the wheel fender cover. You may just be able to remove a few screws and peek inside with a flashlight to see if you can spot the sensor and see if the cable is loose.
