Reverse camera retrofit help
Hello . I want to install the reverse camera on a 2016 F31 . The guy that sales the kit has 2 types of ecu: one with one camera input and the one for multiple inputs.
The question is : can I retrofit the one with multiple inputs and use only the reverse camera , that way in the future I can add the rest of the camera's without having errors until then or for reverse camera only I have to install the one input version . Thanks in advance. |

Yes, you can use the surround camera module with just reverse camera connected.
ISTA will show errors for the cameras that aren't connected but reverse camera will work fine and you won't have any dashboard errors or anything like that. |

I suggest you don't install a rear view camera, but instead one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1 You get a field of view wider than what you see in the side view mirrors, along with a front view that acts like a dash cam. You can adjust the up/down view to see just as close to the car as a rear view camera, and use guide lines if you wish. |
