The problem is that an optioned S5 approaches $60K. The M4 is probably going to start around $64K.

The Audi is more elegant, while the BMW is more aggressive-looking.

There is NO doubt when the A5/S5 was introduced it was (and is) a sensual and stunning design.

Funny, I find the opposite to be true. 10 year old A4's (B6) and A6's (C5) still look good, while BMWs from the same era (E46 and E39) look downright ancient. Audi's design is fairly conservative to begin with, and changes from generation to generation are gradual. BMW and Mercedes tend change their styling radically (i.e. think E39 vs. E60 v. F10), so once a new model comes out, the old one instantly becomes outdated.

M4, 64k? What? No way...lol. It'll probably start at $67-68k, and go up to $75k optioned.

The S5 for me costs $58k optioned. But then I need very little in my car, and I don't need thing such as Nav etc. so all I optioned was nappa leather suspension, and sport diff. A 335i xDrive costs $54k. And that's the old model...then new 435i xDrive will likely cost about $60k, optioned. Then the next gen S5 will cost about 63k...ah, never mind. The S5 will cost more than the 435xi.

Prices are increasing...but I'm pretty sure BMW will offer a better driving experience, regardless. And I won't go with Audi, if only because in a sports car I want RWD.

I like the pre-facelift A5 best, then the current A5, then the 4-series.

It's true about seeing the A5 in person. Photos don't do it justice. It has a kind of chunky, low and wide look. That said, I'll reserve my ultimate judgement until I see the 4 in person.

However, it seems overstyled to me. I always liked that the 3-series Bimmer coupes were sporty and subtle. They seemed cleaner and classier.

This is the first time I really wouldn't consider a BMW 3/4 coupe.

I actually really like the 4-series from what I've seen so far, with the exception being that silly side vent. I like that they made the 4-series more proportional to the A5, with a wider and lower stance.

As an A5 owner, I have to agree with you on the pre-facelift cars being much better looking than the post-facelift. Lucky for me, I got mine before the facelift.

You guys don't have any good real-world pics of the pre-facelift A5 with the Sports Pkg (but non-S Line), which in my opinion is the best-looking model. So here's a few shots of mine. Appearance-wise, my car is 100% stock with the exception of the aftermarket exhaust system.

The A5 is quattro AWD. And BTW, the AWD system is RWD-biased, so it actually feels like a RWD car. The A5 even has a longitudinally-mounted engine.

In my country they are. No such thing as an A5 without quattro here.

Hello guys!

I want to start off by saying that the new 4-series do look good.

I'm sure, with each new re-design, the point is to make a better product.

With that said, I prefer my RS5 over the new 4-series.

The current A5 is a mild redesign/face-lift, but Audi will come out with an entirely new redesigned A5 in the next 2 to 3 years.

The current A5 model is over 5 years old.

I do sure hope that the new 4-series, for MOST car enthusiasts, would persuade them into purchasing more 4-series than A5s, simply because it is a newly redesigned (completely) model.

It is just a game of cat and mouse or "catch up".

As in all cases, it is subjective.

I have some photos of my RS5.

Here they are, and I hope you guys like them (the photos):

M435i will definitely hit the $60k mark in a well optioned form(nav, prem, sport-auto etc.)

I love this RS5.... the grill especially, its just so damn sexy and has that monster look... I was looking at one point at A5 or S5 and if i went that route, I would have got the RS5 grill for it

wouldnt mind seeing pics of your car on the side, so i can see your wheels

The article you linked to is a Blogging site, that links to a Nov, 2012 Autobild.de article.

http://www.autobild.de/artikel/audi-...u-3723364.html

In your link, it says... quote "The image below, created by the artist, gives an idea of how it could look like the new coupe."

To be honest and frank, it`s an artist`s rendering, not actual spy shots.

To prove the point, if you search for "2015 Audi A5" on google.com, the ONLY site that has an article with NEW RENDERINGS/PICTURES on it is..... autobild.de .

Other sites are just linking to autobild.de.

There are no other original content that shows anymore images/renderings on the 2015 A5.

The actual concept vehicle won't be shown, at least for another year I would think.

Then, the spy shots would come a few months after that at a minimum.

Of course, there are other news sites with information (not images of the new 2015 A5) that gives specs for the new 2015 A5, but no new renderings or pictures (they only show the current face-lifted model images).

The (pre-facl ift) audi a5 is lacking aggression? This is mine on a quick few pics a friend took. I guess the A5 being rarer then BMW's is definitely a plus, most people don't even know what it looks like
