noticed the rattle on my 2014 6mt model first day i picked it up. freaked out since I thought it was knock.

Literally zip tied an actual 3 lb weight to the hose. problem fixed. will order the new BMW part.

Doesn't need 3lb, doesn't even need 3oz, is purely to stop the harmonic resonance, my homemade damper probably only weighed an ounce or two.

So glad I found this! Was having a hard time describing the problem to my dealer and replicating for them on my 435i.

my dealer refuses to do this bulletin for me since they say it only applies to the USA. my dealer is the worst.

The weight solves the problem, but so does binding the hose to the one next to it with a plastic band. A zero cost solution. Good luck with that...

Second weight has finally arrived and installed. No more noise... Wish everything in life was that simple...

My 435i was a late 2013 built model. My dealer is saying that the fix has been installed already but I still have the rattle noise. Can that be? I thought the bulletin was only issued early 2014?

Any thoughts?

I have a mid-November 2013 build date and the fix was completed in March. The bulletin was issued in January 2014.

Thanks to OP and this thread I was able to get my dealer to throw the weight on and now the annoying rattle is GONE!! Not to mention they took care of the drainage grommet, installed new wipers and changed my oil...annual service FTW!

I just checked mine. It came from the dealer with the weight installed. I don't know the build date off the top of my head, but it think it was in January 2014.

Of course before I had a chance to pop the hood, I drove home from work seeing if I could hear the buzz. So I drove without any music etc, which is rare. Not to take this on another tangent, but are you all getting a fair amount of wind noise from what seems to be the side mirror? Fan was on low, windows up, door fully closed. Granted I was driving 75 - 90 on the highway, but it was more noise than I would expect.

I find wind and road noise do appear to be high but, as the car is inherently quiet it makes other noises seem louder iykwim.

Is this the same issue everyone is having? I have had my car to the dealer 5-6+ times and they still have not resolved the issue. It is not vibrating the wheel but a very loud buzzing -almost short circuit noise is coming through.
