2012 328i navigation upgrade issue
Hi
I hope y'all can help. I have a 2012 328i with 112111.2.18 road map North America premium 2012 currently on my vehicle. I want to upgrade to the 2013 version of maps and nav. My dealer told me they were going to cover the upgrade for me due to some misunderstanding however, after some issues w the service advisor he claims that when they tried to upgrade the software the car wouldn't accept it because "it thinks it is the most up to date and doesn't need an upgrade" I have a feeling they're giving me the run around. But they said they had to contact some support group to have the software re programmed to allow my car to upgrade. So my question is- has anyone had their car upgraded to the new nav, or seen or heard of this error? Or does it seem like they're just making excuses? Thanks for the help. |

I just upgraded mine. Download the torrent (you can find online if you look), buy a 32gb USB drive, search for sierra's email address and email him for an FSC code. He will charge about $65 for a FSC code. You can do it yourself. Never heard of those errors the dealer is talking about.

yep! brand new car and the dealer didnt even upgrade the nav or drive. they are worthless and i'd rather spend $65 then have to argue with them about something that should have been done predelivery.

same issue here. the explanation was that the current version of all software is installed at the factory at the build time.
The dealer has no ability to charge the cost of an upgrade to a version released after build time to BMW NA or BMW Canada |

Dealer called me back - they made a "mistake" my car is eligible for the upgrade.. They apparently needed to get a new code and it was a miscommunication. Thank you all for your help!
