Detroit (I live in Michigan). Last week he asked for my full name and address and said would be mailing me my credentials (I asked for a second for my dad and he said no problem). Gotta love BMW.

There will be an M4 (F82) version based off the 4 Series coupe and there will also surely be M Performance Automobiles spawned off the F30 3 Series and F32 4 Series lineups (in the form of M335i, M435i, M340i, or M440i, etc..)
Unless that would be considered M-Sport line which i think should have included the M performance exhaust at least

The concept will not be accessible to the public, as per all BMW concepts.

As they are still concepts. My boss does not let anybody press or public to sit in the BMW i Concepts. Press are allowed to photograph inside and out but BMW's handlers keep them from taking a seat.

The 4er Coupe Concept will be at the NAIAS. LA Autoshow will see the US debut of the X1 Concept based on the current model but with winter sports accessories and the BMW i8 Concept Spyder making its US debut.
NAIAS is always the flagship North American show. LA and NYC are more for production model debuts.

The BMW M6 Gran Coupe and the beginning of BMW's US diesel roll out with the 328d will be at the NAIAS.
Both Geneva and Shanghai will bring new concepts with a key important development for the luxury market being the focus in China.

Why does BMW waste the time with these "concepts" when history has shown that they look 99% like the actual production model? Just unveil the production model and be done with it.

Well ... just because it looks 99% ready doesn't mean it is. You can hardly reveal a production model when one is not ready for production Releasing teasers like this might put off a prospective S5 buyer from pulling the trigger and make them wait for the F32. If they waited until it was ready, that's a whole lot of buzz and excitement amongst potential customers lost.

BMW. Always fixing something that was never broken, damaging it in the process.
Me too. I'm totally offended by BMW changing the name of a car model. Because, y'know...that's the sort of thing I get upset over. That's how I roll.

I don't care how excellent the car is. Calling it a 4 series ruins the whole thing. I'm afraid if I bought one, I wouldn't be able to bring myself to drive it.

Thanks! Please, please, please tell me 328d will be available with MT even as pay-for option?

The question is how many people are registering M3, 3 COUPE, and 3SERIES for their 4 series.

I'm excited about the 4 series but not about the price premium they will charge of the fact that it is now called a "4 series". January is just around the corner
