Replacement Tires
Hi all. Turns out I need to replace both my rear tires on my 435 Gran Coupe MSport with MSport brakes and the 442 19" wheels staggered tires. I want to go with wider tires. The OEMs are 255/35.
Any idea how big I can go without spacers or other modifications? I am not lowering the car. Thanks! |

if you are going to use your 442m rims, which is sounds like you are. you can't fit a much wider tire than 255 on 8.5" as the sidewalls are already bulging somewhat. the most you could go is 10mm wider 265/35/19 which will increase the sidewall height slightly.
the factory widths are 225 fronts, 255 rears, aesthetically nice but basically set up to understeer. if you could go wider in the rear left the fronts the same, you are creating more understeer. if you are looking for better handling widen the fronts to 245 leave the rears at 255 and go with really good tires. |

Found this old thread but wanted some more info. Looking at replacing tires on F32 with 442 rims. I am trying to decide what will work/look better on a car thats stock height. Would it be good to go with a 235/40 or would a 245/35 be better (if it will fit) for the front. Also was considering a 265/35 for the rear but doesn't like it will fit or if it does may not look the best which puts me back to original 255. Was thinking the Bridgestone S-04 Poles.

Yeah rolling diameter would be off if I went 245/35 up front. From what I calculate 235/40 on the front with a 265/35 on the rear will be very close and within tolerance. The tires come staggered from BMW. Just need to see if 265/35 will fit on the rear as I have read it may bulge too much.
Anyone run 265/35 on the rear on OEM 442 rims? |
