Lights on inside of doors

I was told on my 2014 335 that there were lights on inside of doors when driving , and they set them for white , I don't see them at night. On settings there set for sport other choice is classic ?

classic light is red, and sport/modern/luxury light is white. The red is brighter so it's more obvious, and yes there are light strips on the door. It's in between the upper soft plastics and the leather stitched portion

They aren't easy to see. You really can't see them unless you're in pitch black.

They are pretty dim even at the highest setting. I understand coding can make them brighter.

interesting. If it could be tuned brighter without stressing the bulbs too much then it would be awesome to have, especially for the white light, which is basically invisible at the moment.

The problem with the white is it's hard to distinguish from outside light. When it's totally dark out they look cool, but for that reason I usually keep it on classic. Also it was one of those little things I always loved about BMW's so now that I have one I like to rock the amber.

Is this confirmed? I was under the impression that this was not code-able.

Can't say for sure. I read that the ambient lighting is brighter in Europe which tells me it should be codeable.

I checked with Frogman and he says it's 100% by default. So coding won't do anything.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed with the intensity of the light even when it is maxed out

Man, this is annoying... I just recently rode in an e90 335 and the ambient lighting is WAY brighter than my f30

its ambient / accent lighting! it is meant to be subtle. When I have max brightness on classic ... I can see the faces of the people in the back seat. Its a little creepy. On a road trip I had to turn it down.

My 99 Audi was my first car with interior accent lighting (red). The subtle red/amber accent lighting is a key to a german sports sedan IMO.

Thanks. I did a little internet research and it looks like the brightness is limited by the hardware not software. A shame as there is little difference between the highest and lowest settings.

I think it depends on your trim colour, now bright it looks.
Classic with my coral red stands out nicely. Black trimmed cars maybe not so much.
