fabspeed dp and 93 octane stage 2 tune, failed inspection
so i have a fabspeed catted downpipe and a stage 2 bm3 tune. I went to get my inspection today (ny resident) and I failed for the o2 sensor in the emissions part. I thought that the one thing about the fabspeed is that it is advanced enough to let you pass but you also get you the flow you need for stage 2. So i may have been wrong lol. I realize I should have at least detuned back down to the stock tune. My office Christmas party was last night so I am not at my sharpest right now haha. Is there anything I can do short of putting a stock cat back in to pass?

Let us know if you pass after doing this, as this will let us know if the Fabspeed DP is performing as advertised. |

Note, this is not a Fabspeed issue, this is because the tune makes the O2 sensor show up as "not ready" when the emissions guys scan your car. If your O2 sensors are not in a "ready" state, you will fail inspection. I had this happen on the wife's X5. I believe it was because I had just changed a bunch of stuff through Bimmercode and in the process reset the O2 readiness. This doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your emissions or your O2 sensors, it just means the sensors need to see a few miles before they are ready. You can either drive for 100-200 miles and they will reset, or if you're impatient like me, you can google "drive cycle" and there are instructions on how you can reset them in about 30 minutes. It took me a while to find a wifi obd app that should the sensor readiness state, but one called "Auto Doctor" worked for me. Good luck!
