Opinions on 428i GC lease proposal

Hey all,

My local dealer threw this deal together for me on a 428i GC. I think they can do better but 15 min into talking numbers they said they aren't going to make much on this deal and are about at their limit. I think they can do better but I wanted to get another opinion. I am waiting on a quote from a forum sponsor as well, but in lieu of that, please take a look if you don't mind!

Car specs:

BSM/Ivory/Black Dakota Int. 428i Gran Coupe
M Sport
DAP
Premium
Technology
Heated seats
MSRP - $53,000.00

They knocked the price down to $49,228.41
Acquistition fee - 925.00
License fees -125
Gross Cap Cost - $50,153.41

Residual (0.61) from 53,000 is 32,330.00
12k miles/yr
39 months
MF .0016

Payment 588.98 plus 47.12 in tax = 636.10

What do you guys think? I see 200 added into the acq fee, but they aren't charging much else erroneously. I think the MF should be a .0013 but they are really resisting that one. How is the discount compared to what you all get? This GC is sort of middle of the road in terms of being fully optioned.

Thanks,

Gavin

That's same price I'm quoted on my 435 GC for 15k miles. How much down are you putting dow? Have you looked into multiple security deposits to bring down the MF.

No MSD, no money down. Is it feasible to get the .0013 MF without MSD as well as around 5-6k off msrp?

There's gotta still be something for them when they advertise .0013 MF in their deal online; and people seem to get their cars on here for invoice-ish pricing and I see that I'm not there yet...thoughts?

0.0013 is the standard MF right now. You should be able to get invoice +\- $500. Shop around different dealers.

Well you said they weren't making money on me...so I responded with the fact that their online advertised lease terms are better than what they offered me so I would assume they are still making plenty of money even though they claim they are already up against the wall. I was trying to see if anyone could rationalize that or if they are blowing smoke, etc.

At .0013MF, are they making any money? If they sell the car only a few hundred over invoice, and then give me the base MF, are they making any money at all?

actually thats not what i was saying at all.

i was actually laughing at the fact they had said that to you.
dealerships makes money hand over fist when they sell a car.

they make it with the car you buy, the financing, the loan, the lease deals, the manufacturers kickbacks, the extras you buy in the finance room you sign your docs at. you know that extended warranty package, the wheel warranty, the extra maintenance package, the paint protection, the window etching, the alarm, etc etc.

good lord do they make money on your azzzz.

they play the little haggle game every time. then they say they don't make any money.
I don't want to say exact numbers as they vary but they do make thousands of dollars per deal easily. so don't think for a second they make nothing or little on any deal.
by using a little common sense, just think. would they ever let you drive off with one of their cars and make little to no money.
look at the dealership and is it really nice looking? does the G.M. look like he owns one car or a few? does he own a home? or multiple homes? does the other managers look like they need the extra deals or do they look pretty well off?

let see your MF is 0.0013*2400 = 3.12%
if you look at the current incentive from bmw (Edmunds), their finance percentage right now as of dec 8, 2014 is 3.12% .
that MF is not lower, its just what everyone is getting. btw, they get a kick back on your finance/lease purchases. so yeah they are making money even on your lease.

leases is a dealerships best friend. so many ways to "fee" you up and the majority of consumers don't even know how it really works, but consumers love jumping into them.
its all impulse buying and that's what dealerships love about this. it gets the majority of impulse buyers into something they otherwise wouldnt be able to afford and to top it off they tell everyone they don't make anything on this deal. they will make it up on the next sale.

I hope I was able to explain it.

That looks good. On a lease just to bring payment down is there any benefit (other than that) to adding $$ down on any of these deals?

You never really want to put a lot of money down on a lease. I put $1250 down just to get the payment down slightly. It only works out if you drive to the full term of the lease. The danger of putting money down is if you total the car before the lease is up. Let's say you put $3000 towards cap cost and your payment is $600 a month, if you total the car after a month, it just cost you $3600 to drive the car for a month.

Makes sense..I'll stick to my guns. I think it's safe to say if they at a minimum provide the rates on their online deals, they'll turn a buck!
