MPPSK Exhaust....made under licence by?

Morning All,

So I have heard that apparently the MPPSK exhaust is made under licence by Akrapovic. This is according to Birds Auto.

Probably not the most interesting thread to start (!), but wondered if anyone had heard any different?

Perhaps for the 340i, but I know other MPE are made by a company in the U.K.

Yeah, the M Performance exhaust i had on my E90 was stamped by Akrapovic.

No AK markings on the MPPSK, just ///M markings. That's not to say it's not manufactured by them, and it would certainly account for the quality of it and the weight, but if they stamped them before, why did they stop?

I think you're right, the exhaust is stamped UK, I'd assumed that was just another code as all MPPSK exhausts have it, but this makes more sense. Plus the welding and sections used to divert gasses look very very similar to the M2 one.

Quite simple, if BMW were design responsible and got Akra to manufacture to BMW's design, then no Akra markings. If Akra just rebranded a product they already made, then although it might carry BMW logo and part number, it is Akra's product so therefore can be marked as such.

Could work for other items too, like Harmon Kardon.

You got it.....I didn't want to name them as The company I worked for was a supplier to them.

My company made the stainless tips.
