Help with buying...UGH!

So I currently own a 2006 330i with 85,000 miles. It's a CPO and the warranty ends in June. I've filled out the order for a F30, MSRP of 44,695. The dealer has matched the edmunds TRV in my area of $42892. Residual of 64% and MF of .00190 would give me a $618 a month payment for 12,000 a year, including taxes. I think it's an OK deal, especially since BMW had the qtr of a lifetime this past qtr.

Anyways, they are really screwing me on the trade. They know I have to order this car, and they offered to give me $13k even on my 330i when the car arrives in late May. It does need new tires, but I still feel that's awful. There is currently the same car as mine for sale in town at the other BMW dealer for $19,900. My CA told me that while that's true, I have basically a month and half to sell my car on my own, but still be guaranteed the $13k when I pick my car up if I can't sell it.

Any thoughts on this? Advice? I have bought from this CA before and I like him, but still.

I think you are being had. What f30 are you getting? 328 or 335?

Seems reasonable, the deal on the new car is ok, try to get it to 600 with tax, they will prob do it.

as for your car, it doesnt matter what another dealer is asking imo. If they are asking 19,000 they will probably get 15-16000... Maybe see if they can come up to 14K on the trade in.

Good idea on the $600. I feel like the deal is OK considering how new the car is and the way they are selling.

My car does need new tires, so that's a grand, but it's in perfect mechanical shape. It has premium, cold weather, BMW Assist, Comfort Access, and Premium Sound.

There are a few for sale privately in my area between $16 and $19k.

as long as you are happy, that is all that matters. I used to have an e90 330i which I miss till this day, and am feeling bad its going for a low price

let us know how the two compare when you get it. That N52 in the 330i state of tune was something else.

I love the 330i, but my CPO ends in June, and it is 6 years old. Just checking KBB and trade in on my car in good condition is $13500.

It is sort of sad. It was $44k brand new!

I send my CA an e-mail requesting $14k for my car and under $600 for the F30. We'll see what happens. To get it to $600, it'd be exactly $1000 over published invoice.

FWIW I'm paying quite a bit less than that for a car with a MSRP of 47,195. Sale price 44,300. Same lease terms.

Are they putting any other fees into the payment other than taxes? Acq fee and others up front?

Theyre offering you KBB and guaranteeing that price while giving you time to sell on your own.

What is there to be unhappy about?

The way I work it out, your monthly payment should be $536 without tax.

Add your tax to that and you're still not near $600. Unless I made a mistake...

I've run it on http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm and it works out to be $618 after all fees.

You did pretty good then. I'd say you could push for another 500 off, but thats only about $15 a month.

That's what I'm going for. I asked them to take the sale price to $42,200 which would be just under $600 a month.
