Probably be a coincidence, since park assis software/feature should be separate of nav. We keep writing "nav update," but reallly the entire iDrive system hardware is supposedly being upgraded. Maybe the park assist interface changes with the upgrade, but that still would not explain why they would delay you till Wk45.

If he's ordering now, PW45 is likely the first available production slot, i.e., it is coincidence.

To clarify, I was originally scheduled for PW43 however the Park assist was only available after PW45. Just wondering if 45 was a week of wholesale changes. The PA would interface with either new nav or old
(haha, old, I dont believe I said that).

I doubt Park Assist has anything to do with the new Nav. In the US its available with Park Distance Control or part of the Driver Assistance Package. None of this requires Nav. Can be ordered with or without Nav.

In Canada, park assist was not avaiable with XDrive. I believe the poster is refering to this change.

Correct, I special ordered park assist and surround view. Xdrive was available the previous weeks however those two options were first available PW45. Interesting

They would not let me "special order" park assist when I ordered in June. Glad you were able too.

I had previously mentioned that the BMWNA dealer training video for the new Nav Pro system specifically said the F30 would not get the new Nav Pro "this year". I wonder what they mean by "this year" and I think I now have a better idea.

Perfect time to introduce in a Spring modification. This would be so typical of them since its exactly what they did in 2010 when they upgraded to combox in Spring 2010.

Right now that's my predication for NA market.

Thanks for keeping us up to date! I'd given up on MY13. Once again, though, the reported schedule is too vague. "First Half" could be as late as June, which is close to when MY14 will likely start production.

Could also mean in Spring they will start MY14 for the F30.

Are you talking about the Interior dash picture at the top of the configuration tool? If so, I see it as well, but are you sure that screenshot is from the new Nav menu? Looks like its in App mode of some sort. Are you sure this screenshot changed from last month? I did notice BMW made some minor changes to the configuration tool starting beginning November.

Interesting....

I'm pretty sure it's the new navi cuz i was always comparing it to the navi on the activehybrid 3, and they used to be different, but now their the same, and it looks the same as the pics in the first page. Nevertheless, interesting. Hoping that the new navi is included in the November builds

Yep, that is definitely the new Nav shown on the BYO website for the standard 3er. You can tell by the 3D style "cursor" and fade-away left side menu.

I did some quick BYO for some cars that are definitely NOT going to get the new Nav (i.e. X5, M5, etc) and they still show the old Nav. Then I did some that just got the new Nav (i.e. 650i), and they do indeed show the updated version.

I still stand by my theory from one month ago. Doesn't matter to me either way at this point, I've got an AH3 on order.

Man, if this is true, I am going to be upset. I waited for nearly 2 months in anticipation of the new Nav, and when it finally got rebuffed by seemingly everyone in the know, I went ahead and placed my order Oct. 27 and prodcution started Oct. 29 (SA).

At the time of my order, there had been chatter about the unavailability of German slots for 328's, and consequently I got an SA build. Could all of the remaining old Nav parts been in SA, hence the shift of production there?

Unlikely. I've never heard of two plants not being on the same cycle as far as production/parts/etc.

We need to identify an NA customer taking ED of PW45+ car with nav. Then we'll know for sure.

Was it a PW45 car? What was the status on Oct 29/30?

Should be easier now, since anyone who has placed an order from this point on will be PW45 or later.

The new Nav is pretty nice. I recommend that anyone test it out on a new 5er, etc., before committing to the old version. The best part is that I think we're only scratching the surface on its full potential.

Its also possible that the change on BMWUSA.COM is for production after Jan 1. Anyone try to order a car this week? What slots are still open? Anything in 2012? We still have no confirmation or idea if PW45 means anything for BMWUSA cars.

On Monday, I sat at my CA's desk, and could see lots of 328i cars for build weeks before EOY.

At this point we wait for announcement from BMWNA or a customer to take delivery. An ED car with nav could get us an update as early as next week.
