Personally think it ruins the look from the front. But hey, how often do people look at your car from directly in front right?

Bigger concern is how much good it actually does. Not sure you'll see any performance gains/improvement.

If you like get it. But you will not get any extra horsepower. It looks like it could improve airflow into the engine bay.

That M3 airscoop, I don't trust that dyno number.

I don't see how increasing the airflow to the engine is going to give you more HP if you don't make other mods??? How can you believe that seriously... At the most it helps cooling it down, not even sure about that. This +10 hp at the dyno is insignificant, I'm sure that's within normal variation between 2 identical dyno runs.

Thumbs up my 2000th post !

$60 is expensive for what it is...

but then $60 cheap for some of us....

realistically, i dont think the performance numbers are real.... but having scoops to direct air properly would not hurt... i say take them in black if you can afford it...

otherwise, our bmw were designed without... so these are not critical items...

I think BMW engineers would've thought of this if it truly added that much extra power...

That's cheap for those performance gains. However, it doesn't look quite right. Anyone else planning on getting it?

I personally thinks this looks awful. 310hp vs 300hp is 3% performance gain if even true. Not worth it.

Somebody explain how adding those air diverters, which will supposedly cause more air to enter the stock intake system WHEN MOVING will add power on a dyno? Reason I ask is because if the car is stationary on a dyno, how on earth would you get a power gain? At 70mph on the road, maybe - a little bit of ram-air effect - but not stationary. Save your money.

IF the claims are true, it is replicable on a dyno. Just have a giant fan blowing at the car while it's on the dyno (in fact you'll often see vids of cars on dynos with giant fans in front to simulate real driving conditions).

HOWEVER, I highly doubt the claim that it'll boost hp by 7-10. If doing something this simple could do that, the eggheads at BMW would have designed it that way, considering how much time they spent coming out with the N20 engine.

Those giant fans aren't just there to simulate real driving conditions. They are to COOL the engine that is being hammered through ALL of the rev ranges until they map your system. NEVER get on a dyno without air being forced into your car/motorcycle. Bad things happen!

They actually don't simulate "real driving conditions" at all. They just provide a level of cooling to keep things from overheating too much. It's a somewhat high volume of air (hopefully), but not at high velocity.

This. For such a simple device, BMW would've implemented it into the design if it had any real performance gain...I would think.

Let us know the results! If it really does produce 7/10hp difference (and I mean you feel this in real life, not just some dyno results), I'm sure a lot of ppl here would love to get some for so cheap.

Guys, this will do NOTHING for you. No way in hell you'll see any change at all on a dyno - ever. Anything you spot on forums saying otherwise is absolute BS or posted by someone with a hand in the pot. Save your money.

All it's doing is theoretically "forcing" cold air into the intake. Note that it's the SAME air the intake would have sucked in anyway, so it won't be any colder. I'm not even going to get into the fact that we're talking about an intercooled turbo and injected motor...you can't have "ram air" with an injected motor.

Like I said previously, this is total bullshit! Two stamped-metal "scoops" aren't going to produce ANY change in airflow. If you want to help the engine's breathing, get a low-restriction air filter element, which MIGHT give you a little better mileage and maybe some better top-end airflow, but no significant horsepower increase.
