Please rate my 2015 3-series lease!

Hey guys,

I'm about to jump into another BMW, this time looking at a 328i xDrive and also a 320i xDrive, both 2015 models. Longtime lurker. Would love to hear your thoughts. I'm getting this from a Vancouver BMW dealer.

Here are my lease details:

2015 320i xDrive
- Luxury package
- Navigation
- Lighting
- Park distance control
- Metallic paint
- 3% over dealer cost ($43970)
- Freight/PDI, fees: $3094
- 48K, 4 year lease; 0.15% interest rate (loyalty)
- residual is 49%

Works out to $432 + taxes per month, if paying fees etc up front.

As for the 328i xDrive with premium package/metallic paint at 3% profit I'm seeing:
- Total: $45,361 MSRP plus taxes and fees (same lease term; interest rate 1.15%).
- residual is 48%

Works out to $483 + tax per month, if I pay fees/PDI etc up front.

Questions: Which lease looks more attractive? Is it worth it to pay fees/PDI up front to avoid interest when rolled into monthly payments? Or does that not matter?

I plan on using the BC BMW Car club 2% off deal too to sweeten things. Let me know your thoughts! thanks

The better deal is the 320i.... but it depends do you care about the extra power from the 328i? I personally would pay more but then again you can tune the 320i for more power easily if you need a bit more umph in day to day.

Thanks for getting back. I don't really care about that much lack of power, as I'm coming from a 323i. Car mainly used for minor commutes with our family. May get a 328i the next time around.

The 328i looks appealing as I would be interested in buying it out at the end.

Would it be better to just roll in the fees into monthly payments and incur interest, since it's only 0.15%?

Yes.

If you change your mind in the middle of the lease term(putting up to lease buster), then at least you did not pay 100% of those fees at all ..

That was if I paid the fees up front. But with them rolled in, it's $479+tax.

Mark up is about 3%. The payment doesn't include the BMW 2% yet

Wow those are some really good numbers without anything down.
I'm also considering a lease, would you mind telling me which dealership you're working with?
Did you also bring up the 2% BMW club yet? I always wondered how that worked. Instructions were to negotiate your best possible price but not sign papers. Then tell them about the 2% afterwards. Curious to know how they would react to that.

I can tell you the dealership via PM.

I did initiate the BMW Club form and emailed it to the club. They responded quite quickly and said they would email it to the local BC Club member to send it to BMW Canada for approval. Once approved, BMW Canada lets you know and sends you the information to pass to the dealer. Turnaround time I was told was 7-10 days, but everything happens via email so they said it could be sooner.

When I told my dealership, they said it was fine, since it's BMW Canada that pays for the discount and not the dealer. All I am waiting for now is for BMW Canada to approve the reward, then I let the dealer know, then pick up the car.

The BMW Club Reward is a pretty cool perk for members (you are required to be a member for at least a year), as that 2% can be big savings on more expensive BMWs.

Those are good numbers. After being in a 320i for two years i really love it but I'd go for a 328. More power and more options added as base to the car. Go for RWD and chop 4k off the price. For anything outside an x35/40i AWD is overpriced. Way overpriced.

Thanks for your feedback. I am coming from a 323i, so this will be a nice upgrade with the extra options. I don't crave the need for speed yet, but got xDrive (and we'll probably get winters) for the sake of our toddler, should we be heading up to go skiing etc. Peace of mind for the family.

I was going to consider a 328i xDrive but decided it would be too much car for what I am using right now, just happy to be back in another 3-series.

Attracting deal!
For the 328i xdrive option, if all fees are rolled in(~3000?), do you know how much is the monthly payment? Thanks.
