Finally managed to code to stop the flickering during self-test.

Please note that there's no way around coding if you want your LED to stop flickering. As promised above, this is what I managed to get with coding and decent LED : |

nice video.
the front LEDs are brighter than I expected - seem to be really good chips. As I see you are using a 5x5W Cree LED in the taillights - ordered a similar bulb without projection lens: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221192124955 @mtevie did you order this bulbs http://www.ebay.com/itm/141100334555 - just searched by the item number ? Can't imaging that those one can replace a bulb with more than 5-10watts. Last edited by bmw_fascinated; 12-05-2013 at 06:03 AM.. |

Just to be clear, you used the same LED bulbs as those for the front turn signals, but you just rotated them 180 degrees? If you were using the BA15s bulbs, do you mind providing the link where you got them? Thanks!

No. PY21W/BAU15S for the front and P21W/BA15s for the back. The difference between the front and the back lies in the layout of the bayonet : 150 degrees for the front, 180 degrees for the back.

I accidentally found these on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331055302929 http://www.ebay.com/itm/181280296943 260lm doesn't sound much, but referring to the few reviews I found (and the google translate output) they seem to be at least as bright as the OEM bulbs ... http://shumauto.com.ua/lampy-philips...24vcanbus.html Haven't seen these LEDs in Germany - has anyone of you seen them before? These LEDs are also very bright (at least as bright as an amber bulb, if not even brighter) : http://www.ebay.com/itm/231115946594
The only disadvantage are the yellowish emitters since they use a blue (460nm) InGaN semiconductor combined with a phosphor on top that emitts broadly around 590nm. |

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191027694132 bought these for my front signal turn lights -they work, but are not bright enough compared to stock. will keep looking although i'm tempted to just go with one of the ~30-40$ options, they look to be a lot brighter.
Quick demo - front left is LED, front right is stock. It's not that apparent in this video but take a look at how much of the housing gets lit up by the standard incandescent, also see how much of it shines onto the ground compared to the LED. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=lecWFfxk8ww Last edited by zeezz; 01-20-2014 at 02:49 PM.. |

For those of you curious, here's a clip.. you can't really tell but they are brighter than the stock bulbs on the left. You can compare the output to my previous LED video (few posts up) ... way brighter. I'm going to get a set of these for my rear turn signal lights as well. |
