Need some input from you guys

I am in the market for a lightly used 3 series. The options I've come up with so far are:

2016 328i xDrive
2016 428i xDrive GC
2017 330i xDrive

Now, aesthetics and looks aside, which one would you choose? I understand that BMW changed the engine in the 2017 330i, but I have not read up about it.

What's the consensus? Is the new engine a worthy upgrade? Did they keep the same transmission?

Also, how does the 428i Gran Coupe drive? Is it based on the 4 series chassis and does it drive like 3/4 series? The reason I ask is because my wife has a 328i GT, and that car definitely does not drive like a 3 series. It is based on the 5 series chassis and naturally feels like a heavy, cushy 5 series, which I would not prefer.

Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

Thanks!!!

428 looks the best and the handling is right on point with the 3 series. The GC styling just looks much better.

The GC is not at all like the GT. It is just as swift.

The motor difference is negligible. Both pull strongly and both are quick four cylinders.

Since you are looking at XDrive, the card will all handle similarly and be a little less sporty, but will still feel planted. Especially in rain and snow.

Same great ZF transmission too. In the updated 330, it shifts at slightly different points.

Hope this helps

GC and give Dinan $1500 for stage 1 and you'll be good to go
