I have a healthy amount of self-confidence, but it still took me a few months to believe this is happening

After several tries of tightening the mirror to prevent the droop, I have had the mirror replaced (under warranty of course!). Hopefully, this will be the end of my sagging mirror!

So I really don't get it. It practically takes a vice grip and a lever to move my mirror, yet every few days it droops down. Really defies physics.

Are you out of your mind? Yes if there's a problem with your car's build quality - big or small - you bring it in and have someone fix it. Just because it's a heavy mirror with lots of gadgets in it doesn't mean that the folks at R&D can't figure out how to get the mirror to stay in place. What happens with the OP's problem turns from 3-4 days, to 3-4 minutes? You expect him to readjust it every time? Premium product - premium parts - premium service. If we're paying for that, that's what we should receive, nothing less. His problem sounds like a nuisance, and a rear view mirror shouldn't have to be adjusted every few days. Driving cars for 20 years, I've never had a single mirror with this issue. It's a problem, others have this problem - so probably an early build quality issue. |

Instead of having to adjust the mirror for years to come (depending on how long you are going to keep the car) i would rather spend an hour or 2 at the dealership and fix it for good.

Mine also had this issue. The dealership was kind enough to replace the entire mirror and the new one also sags down a bit over time, albeit not as bad as my previous one.
However, this is typical BMW quality for you and the price you pay for cheap lease rates and exceptional engine and transmission. The cost cutting gotta go somewhere! dL |

Ditto on my mirror. It doesn't bother me that much though. Only have to adjust it every week or so.

The same thing happens on my 2013 335i. I'm alluding it to the auto-dimming feature that dims the mirror reflectivity while driving at night. Somehow it is not resetting to its original position the next morning.
I have noticed that the mirror drops by a significant angle after driving at night and is noticeably low the next morning. Now that it is summer and i'm reaching home while there is still daylight the droop is not much. Or I'm just imaging things . Question to other posters is whether all of you experiencing the mirror drop have auto dimming feature? |

I was wrong. The auto dimming feature works by reducing the reflected light using electrochromic gel sandwiched between the mirror glass and reflective coating.
details can be found at the following link... http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...g-mirrors.html So it seems that the mirrors are physically drooping. |

this used to happen in me e90 every few months. I thought I was crazy, wondering who drove my car, or if I'm just slouching too much, did the seat move....

Absolutely no mirror drooping here. I've had my '14 since October and haven't had to adjust the mirror since initial setup.
I'd recommend folks suffering from mirror-droop talk to their dealer. Maybe the part was fixed/changed. |

Mine too. But I use the UGD buttons and have to remember not to push too hard or it can move the mirror.
