2016 f30, N26. When I bought it about a year ago, gas consumption was showing 24.4. I'm an older guy and drive like it. A couple of months ago I was at 16 mpg. I reset it and started over just to see if it had been wrong somehow. Now, I'm just up to 14.4 and holding in comfort mode. Exhaust pipe is looking somewhat black. In my younger days... before cars had computers, that would mean it was running too rich. If that were the case, wouldn't it be throwing some codes? Using 91 octane, all city driving.

Do manual calculations. Ignore computer.
Mileage on car? Last oil change? Spark plug change? Run a bottle of techron through it too. Could just be all the city driving with a/c blasting? |

I agree with checking manually, but that mileage seems poor. Las Vegas is pretty flat. I have a 6-cylinder and live is san francisco, which is all hills, but you probably blast the A/C more than I do. If I run a whole tank in the city, I get about 17. (I also drive like an old guy.)

If you're only driving 5-6 miles, your car will just be getting warmed up when you stop. I get either 20 in usual driving and 30 on the highway, but 17 if I'm just making a downtown run of a few miles. The suggestions above are good...plugs and keeping up with other maintenance. Not sure of your mileage, but you may have an air leak somewhere, but you'd get a warning light if something was far off. I'd be surprised if your fuel filter was clogged, but when I changed one years ago, my mpgs went up by 2--PO hadn't changed it in 100,000 miles. Also, of course, check your car for codes...something may have registered that'd give you a clue, even if it hasn't thrown the CEL.

That's normal. It's why many of us switch from chrome to black tips.

OP, have you tried driving in EcoPro mode since you are basically doing all city driving? I believe it also activates the auto start/stop which could help with mpg especially with frequent traffic stops. I do most of my driving in Comfort mode with part city/hwy and get about 20-22 mpg.
