328 Xdrive, GTA

Hello all,

I am new to the forum. I am in the market for a 2013 328 xdrive classic line. Hear on the radio there is a special offer on the 3 series. What should my target price should be? Any suggestions on a dealer in GTA?

Thanks.

Pretty much exactly what I'm getting now. I had the E90 touring (xi) and was getting 13L/100 as well. A vast improvement if you ask me.

I'm also finding that the F30's throttle response is more linear. In my touring, it felt like it was lagging all the time.

Agreed on the throttle response, I think it's a combination of the higher torque of this new motor and the 8 speed auto.

Has anyone been getting different gas mileage with different octane gas (89 vs 91)?

I expect the consumption to be worse on 89.

However, with only about $150 savings per year (if that), why would anyone put 89 gas in these cars? I would be saving about $110 per year, which is a bit more than a coffee a week.

My trip computer got reset about a month ago while getting the ASS disabled. I'm now at a stable 10.4-10.5 L/100km.

Pretty damn good!

I'm at about 700Km's now 2 weeks into having the car. First gas tank averaged at 13.5l/100 Kms. Must say I was stuck in bad traffic on both Highway and City driving more than usual that week. Now I'm at 12.5l/100 kms. Driving 90% of the time in Comfort.

Since I swapped out my winter tires a few weeks ago, I'm now getting in the low 10's L/100km.

I have a 2012 X1 (no words to describe what a mistake this was...) so same engine and transmission but no stop / start. Now at 16,500 km with an average of 10.1. Probably 50/50 city / highway. Compares to about 11.5 for my E91. My E90 330i was better than the X1, which I think shows what a fuel suck xdrive can be.

It will get better. I haven't reset it since I got it last October and I'm now at 9.8 average. Mostly city driving and so far it was mostly winter lol.

Just an example, I filled the tank up 2 weeks ago, drove 630 km and the car still says I can go about 30-40 more before a new fill is needed. Out of those, only about 250 km were on highway. Total average for these 2 weeks, 8.4 l/100 km (roughly).

Just throwing in a '13 335i M Sport 6MT RWD as a comparison.... Averaging about 9.0 l/100km (actual, not using iDrive numbers which are 0.5 l/100km optimistic) in Sport mode with mainly city driving after several thousand km. Not driving it hard but not babying it either.

I am amazed with the mileage considering the car makes 300hp! My old TSX returned about 8.5 and it only had a 200hp 4 banger.

That's incredible! I hope you're right. I'm at 1000 kms now and my average is down to 12.9. 50/50 highway & city but alot of Montreal traffic. I never drive Eco pro mode though

There is also a period of break in, in which the consumption I think is a bit higher.
I misquoted my consumption in my previous post. It is actually 8.8 l/100 km. Still pretty good.
I drive it in Eco mode once I reach cruising speeds, be it on the highway or in the city. I always like to put it Sport when I am first at a traffic light.

Something I noticed, in cruise control the car is at optimum consumption.

I've been averaging 9-10 l/100.

I drive in sport/comfort, my wife who normally has the car; drives in eco. Quite pleased. My e92 328 gets much worse mileage.

I average 9.1L/100km with 25% city/ 75% hilly highway driving.

With 2500km on my car, I took a 450km trip the other day and averaged 6.6L/100km with 90kph-130kph all on highway, lots of hills. On the return trip, I averaged 6.2L/100km going 80kph-120kph.

If anyone really wants to jump mileage you really should consider a diesel. It just is designed for that purpose.

The gain will be small though for fully urban driving its hardly worth it.

Fully urban is the toughest to improve due to lack of steady driving.

Well, diesels aren't available with F30 yet.

But, the F30 engine does sound a bit like a diesel.

I like that very much.

Since I have the week off work, I've been playing a lot of golf and as a result doing a lot of highway driving and averaging around 8L/100km. Definitely a nice improvement from the usual 10.5L/100km I usually average commuting to and from work in traffic.

See how well this one's going over with US drivers? We were supposed to convert to the metric system what... like 30 years ago? Epic fail on our end. Unfortunately, very few of us have attention spans long enough to convert these numbers into miles/mpg for comparison.

My 328 xDrive is quite new (2 weeks old), but I'm getting about 21mph right now and it's increasing every day. I'm driving maybe 80% in Sport and 20% in Eco Pro. We'll see where it ends up.

Cheers!
