The car would surge when I was just maintaining a steady speed. With an obd2 scanner, I could see the MAF spike from 4~5 up to 10. It wasn't a good feeling.

Would this cause a check engine light to come on as well??
When im cruising in 8th gear on the highway my car seems to surge back and forth. And i have a check engine light on but i thought it was just form putting the catless down pipe on, BUT it shouldn't because i have the BMS stage 1 tune.

Yes, the check engine came on. It gave off 2 P00BD codes. By surge, I mean the car suddenly jolted like the turbo spiked for a split second. All is well now, I'm not sure if the CP broke or just came loose.

Don't be alarmed, I was told it was a freak incident.

I too through a P00BD code yesterday but it went away. I should have my Stage 2 upgrade by the end of the week so I'm hoping that solves that issue...

I'd agree the engine light is probably the DP. But the surging issue probably is something else that needs to be checked out.

I'm wondering how people with DPs get warranty work done. Do you have to remove it so they don't try to pin any issues to the DP?

If you google that code, it's not from the DP.

Type Powertrain - Fuel and Air Metering - ISO/SAE Controlled
Description Mass or Volume Air Flow "A" Circuit Range/Performance - Air Flow Too High

Also, the DP doesn't void the warranty except for the exhaust system.

You lose all boost and the engine feels NA. Because the turbos are still spooling, the engine sometimes stutter when you accelerate. Typically not more than 10% throttle acceleration before you feel the jerk/coughing. Feels like a 30.6hp car.
My car stutters a lot! Ill floor it and I'll feel this weird loss of power with a stutter, I'll let go out the accelerator and try it again and it's fine, is this a blown chargepipe?

When I had my 2009 135i n54 I had the burger jb+ turned up 75% + and under high load conditons, flooring it on the highway for more than 10 seconds the charge pipe occasional popped off. It didnt break just popped off. I woukd take the metal ring holding the charge pipe on and bend it a bit to and it woild seem to hold a bit better.
