The Red Start/Stop Button

I just got mine in the mail, installed in about 7 minutes using the Credit Card method. It was so simple.

And...it looks awesome. No, the car isn’t faster. But it is an attractive interior add on, and gives some color to the panel.

Moreover - why aren’t Red Start/Stop buttons standard on every car?

Rational: Stop is usually Red....Stop signs, traffic lights, electrical machines all feature a big red STOP on them. Especially if it’s an emergency stop.

Anyway, I’m liking it.

I don't necessarily think it looks bad but I'm going to pass on this. I'm very doubtful a $12 "mod" is really going to improve the enjoyment and feeling from a $40-$60K car.

How much did that run and where did you order it from?
My black start/stop button has some wear that the plastic covers around the letters started to worn out. Not a bad alternative.

Extreme PH (forum sponsor) has them. As does Amazon, eBay etc.

I thought about it, our MDX has a red push button start. I think it's simply a matter of preference. And it the post would be better with a picture!

I get what you’re saying, but if I remember correctly, I may not, didn’t the Honda have a button the size of a half dollar? Big as I remember it.

I'm. It a fan of the current plastic one. It looks a little cheap. If they were a magnesium or aluminum satin finish I might consider it.

Why not Green?

Rational: Go is usually Green...Traffic lights, On buttons, Lorde, etc. When I am behind the wheel I am more interested in Going instead of stopping

I’m thinking more of an emergency stop as opposed to an emergency start, haha.

I installed my red button using the credit card method as well. For the sake of this thread needing photos here's mine.

I dont know, the red button just doesn't do it for me. Looks out of place in my opinion. But to each their own.

If it's good enough for the 2018 M5 it's ok for me. The finish was surprisingly really good on the button. On par with the oem one.
