But also, don't forget that your dealer might have already had pre-booked build slots available too

This whole thread is like a big damn rollercoaster. Uggghhh.
That said, my CA is going to call me in a week when he gets the November prod slots in and I'm going to go order then. Waiting a week is no big deal and if I don't get the new iDrive, no huge deal I guess. Either way, I've been told if I place my order next week, the car should be delivered in mid December. Just in time for Colorado winter. :/ |

That's the problem. We have multiple people asking their CA, who then in turn ask their contact for the answer, and we get some that say yes, and others that say no.

I spoke to the sales manager at my dealer yesterday, and he said he has not heard any mention of the new Navigation starting production in November for the 3 series.

F30 BW45 for the new Nav. One of mine is BW44 and the other BW48.

Apparently this doesn't apply for NA cars for some reason

I've addressed the rationale for this early in thsi post.
Europe's MY2013 begins in NOVEMBER 2012. Hence why the upgrade will begin this November. North America's MY 2013 started in August, so BMW NA likley does not want to introduce an upgrade mid-MY. They will likely wait and introduce it as part of MY2014 (August of 2013). Makes total sense from a marketing perspective - that's how companies keep their products "new" and not piss off buyers who have already purchased the item for that MY.

Quick question, if I am NOT getting a Navigation System, this won't affect me, right? As far as I understand, there won't be any changes to the iDrive system for MY2013.

As far as right now ... there has been no official confirmation that North America is getting teh new iNav in November 2012. Canada is 100% not... US seems to still be in a state of hope... but w/ November builds around the corner and nothing announced, seems unlikely.

Not necessarily. The hardware reported being replaced (upgraded) affects the entire system, AFAIK, not just the navigation feature. See the announcement made in this site for the list of new hardware. It could be that you get all the upgrades only if you get nav, though. Does F30 iDrive w/o Nav have an HDD for storing music?

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=716974 Looks like the administrators of this board are still predicting a November release for the new Nav system in the F30s. The CAs have no knowledge of it yet but I waited for months to get this and am getting a November production car regardless. Maybe Jason knows something the rest of the, don't. I'm hoping so... |

My guess is MY14. Its likely NA won't have many new features to tout for MY14 F30 so they're holding out for the new Nav Pro so they have something solid for the 3rd year of the F30. Personally, I'd prefer BMW spend more time on the steering vibration and clunk issues and forget Nav stuff until that's resolved. Ridiculous that this model has been in production for a year and no fix yet. |

Very surprised BMW is mum. How did we come up with November. Was this insider info. Can we ask insider again? Catching a tech change like this is key. BMW is known to throw upgrades in all the time. March of 06... new uprated engines. odd model years. In the end, its always best to just buy when you like what you see. but still... |

There are really only two likely scenarios/outcomes for this, IMO: 1) New Nav really does start with November production. Unlikely, I realize, but not totally ruled out in my mind. Then sweet deal for me and others who waited. 2) New Nav rolls out for US for MY2014. That's almost certainly got to be with July 2013 production, which means they show up in here in Sept '13. That is just plain too long for me to wait. If you're going to wait for another year, you might as well wait until MY2016 when the F30 gets an LCI |

https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/press...tem=node__2229 Of course, subsequently folks have stated that BMWNA has opted out, which makes some logical sense, but I have yet to see 100% proof of the opt-out. |
