Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy 2 19" RFT - repairable?

Bugger!!! Picked up a large bolt in a low mileage front tyre, which penetrated the inner shoulder. Tyre deflated in an instant when I pulled it out.
Can these RFT tyres be repaired? Ive looked online and Goodyear's official guidance would suggest not when the puncture is in the inner or outer shoulder of the tyre
Views and experience, however, would be appreciated - many thanks

If it's within 1/2"-1" from the edge of the tread, most shops won't repair it. I lean more towards the 1/2" limit, but understand that that area of the tire flexes quite a bit.

RFT's are as repairable as go-flats, but many BMW dealers won't do it. There is one brand (Pirelli? ) that prohibits it for their tires.

That's a nasty hole-maker!

Most tire shops will not touch a puncture close to the sidewall or on the sidewall. Also, if you drove any distance on the tire while flat you have compromised the RFT of the tire and this is the reason most shops refuse to fix RFTs.

That said, you may find a shop who will repair it but do you want to trust that repair with your life and family in the car? Is saving $300 really that worth it?

Well done. That's what I thought. I wouldn't compromise on safety. After all, I'm pretty sure £200 is nothing when you can afford a car like that.

Fair point, i was only asking as the tyres had hardly been on before I got the puncture...
