'13 335i ER Competition IC Pre and Post logs/review *Updated w/logs*

I thought I'd share my experience and logs, I know when I was hunting for IC data these threads were pretty useful. First I wanted to say thanks and awesome customer service from Mike at XPH. Answered some pre-buy questions very quickly, and shipping was fast. Everything came well-packaged and in perfect condition.

I just moved to AZ, and with the Sportline bumper this especially seemed like it was going to be a necessity, more so after I did some logs while the weather is still decent. I'll attach the logs once I'm on my home PC to convert them to pic form, but give the gist of what I'm seeing also. All runs were on map 5, pretty similar boost levels, and probably around an E25-E30 mixture with 91 octane. I need to get a tester since AZ gas stations give you a range of 51%-83% on "E85"...

Intercooler is the polished ER Competition, I also took the time to install the ER charge pipe and ER TIC pipe while I was under there. Other mods are Dinan intake, ER kitten-free DP, and JB4.

Pre-IC: I have other logs to back these two, but they look identical. Both are 3rd and 4th gear runs. The first log the IAT starts at 75 and hits 117 by the top of 4th. The second log, IAT starts at 50 and hits 83 at the top of 4th.

Post IC: The 3-5 gear run (3rd run out of 4) starts out at 68 and only gets to 78 near the top of 5th. The second run (4th of 4), IAT starts at 80, drops slightly, and was at 79 after letting off upon hitting 5th (also hit the kickdown and jumped into 2nd. Oops). I did 4 fairly back to back runs with these ones, I just picked the 2 best logs where I didn't let off upon seeing headlights up ahead...it was around 67* outside.

Anyways, I'm pretty happy with the results, and hoping they'll carry over and help mitigate the delightful AZ summer that I get to couple with 91 octane. Normal driving around seems to put both stock and ER IC about the same, but the second you start moving any real air through the ER the temps drop immediately. I was a little curious about the target and boost, seem to be a little more separation than I'd expect in there, though I was seeing the same thing on many of the pre-IC/CP/TIC install. Not sure if the difference is due to the IC itself, though I'll probably go back under the car when I get a chance to check and re-tighten things. I'm new to the platform, so any input on the logs or results is definitely welcome.

EDIT: Updated with log pics, sorry for the delay

Thanks for taking the time to do this! Looks like its working very well for you. The ER has a very high density high efficiency core.

Logs are on N54tech N55/B58 forum. This one won't let me upload a CSV file and I haven't had time at home to grab a pic from the JB4 software. I'll try to get them uploaded today so there's at least a visual representation. No reason to lie here.

Mike
I'm pretty happy with it, and I'm definitely curious to see how it'll do when it's 110+ outside. I have a probable boost leak (likely had one before IC/CP) that I'm going to get looked at tomorrow, so I'll be adding a couple psi once that's taken care of. I'll repost a few logs after that, but I wouldn't anticipate anything drastic, the improvement over stock is significant. I feel like I should throw an M-sport bumper on there next because it doesn't seem right to hide so much intercooler...

No problem, you earned it!

I didn't get any new ones, I figured there's plenty showing the comparison. As for installed, I have the Sportline bumper so unfortunately it's not too exciting, though I can grab a pic if anyone is terribly curious.

Not sure where you're getting map 4 from, all of my logs have been on map 5. I get crappy gas here to go with the heat, and the E85 isn't terribly consistent. My stock boost is only around 6-7psi, both target and actual.
