Problems that I have and have had with my 335i
Well, I wanted a BMW and I thought that this car was going to be the best ever! WRONG!
My first car came with a defective Nav/Radio and turned off and on....blah... resolution... the nice BMW manager switched it for me Same color, but more options... So I guess that would make it the first problem.. 2- (new car) Head restrain button came out and it's not working Resolution from BMW- "we will order the part" my thoughts: it's been two months and I bet they haven't even ordered it! 3- Side cameras light turned on- resolution from BMW "my car does it, it's normal" my thoughts " I don't care! it was off before, so you better turned it off" they checked and indeed! I was right... needed to get them adjusted... Thanks! 4-buzzing noise (the one I hate the most) BMW resolution- "It's normal, you should drive it too fast" My thoughts- " just bought the ultimate driving machine, if I can't drive it how I want, why did I just paid 60k for that car?!" Any way, I took the whole dashboard off and the noise is coming from the steer column. I'll have to tell them to check it out. 5-Parking sensors went off... can't even park because freaks me out (safety issue!) BMW resolution- Bring it in tomorrow... It will take a day... my thoughts... "@#$%^ fix it now! it will take you 10 minutes to reset it!!!! GOd damn it! seriously! The moral of the story is get to know the service department first before you make a purchase... it might be a ride in hell... but for real, the car is amazing! I do love it... I just wish service would do a better job... that's all... I posted this just cuz im bored ha. |

makes me wanna puke again about the front cameras...
i would love to have them on my big family saloon such as Merc S550... not on my sport sedan. honestly who uses that.. - -; it only creates problems....during warranty and after warranty... |

I think you need to find yourself a BMW mechanic. I know here in Jax there's one BMW mechanic that knows everything about BMW. He goes to training sessions every year at the fatherland so he can keep up with the tech. He charges a decently high fee (at least not in the 3 digits anyway) but once he fixes it, you don't come back for the same problem. He's help a friend of mine with a nearly lemon X5 and now he has no more issues. Good luck in your search.

Take it to a different dealership if possible + Try and do some research on them beforehand

Then don't get them. You do realize they are optional equipment don't you? Nobody is forcing the OP or anybody else to add them to the car.

Yeah, I myself was very excited to get the parking package with the sensors and cameras. Yes, I know how to operate a vehicle but you can't put a price on some tech to help you avoid scratching or dinging the car because of a split-second mistake. My last new car, I scratched the passenger side rims two weeks after I got it while I was parallel parking because I got too close to the curb. :-/ I was trying to be careful not to be too far out from the curb so my mirror wouldn't get clipped because I was trying to be so careful...of course that backfired when I scraped my rim and I was pissed. The cameras should help me avoid this on the F30 and that's a good thing in my mind.
